Gouken Videos

Good points there, Goathead.

At 1:23, it was really weird since that was gouken´s optimal range on the corner.

At 1:54 it would have been a perfect time for an ex hadou into lp palm.

OH. MY. GOD.

You, sir, are awesome. I spent a few minutes in practice mode trying this, took it to ranked matches and it earned me incredible comebacks using denjin.

This is fucking why overhead demon flip got nerfed. Ladies and gentlemen, gouken has a “vortex”.

corner cr. hp, ex palm, hp hadou, st. lp, dash under into cr. hp, ex palm denjin = dizzy against anyone with less than 1000 stun points, and the combo after does some nice damage still.

Amazing, amazing!

he does that same thing i do to players that like to spam pokes. Standing RH. I saw him doing that a few times in another vid in the Media Section. he actually won the match in that vid.

Stay barely out of range of the poke and throw out the s.RH. Don’t abuse it too much or you’ll eat a Dp and/or ultra.

if one hits try another one. it doesn’t matter if they block it. All you want to do is to scare them into not spamming those moves up close.

At this point the ryu player will either jump back and spam fireballs or attempt to jump in on you… if they’re ok players.

Good players will turtle and wait for you to fuck up. These guys will look for fireballs to FADC, Palms to block and punish, and DF’s to Dp.

It’s moments like those that footsies really matter. i like to move back and forth and throw out c.strong’s and s.RH’s from out of their(and my) range and at almost random moments i would dash in for a throw.

Dash throwing is dangerous, but the rewards, back-throw to ultra, is something that only us gouken players get to enjoy.

I played Raunwynn a total of 15 matches. It was a 7-7 tie minus the Ranked win.

great matches. i like how in one of the matches you went for the ultra on wake-up instead of trying to tech the grab. cool stuff man.

Raunwynn says he likes the Denjin Hadoken because he tends to use it more often, but he rarely does, and WHEN he does it’s after a back-throw or knock-down. The thing is that on knock-down you have the advantage since akuma can just teleport.

I don’t know, but i wanna know why he used it. Trying to stun an akuma that can teleport and jump-away-air-fireball is not easy.

unless he has demon Armageddon and hits it dead on you can follow his teleports with a palm, then akumas dead.

in fact my buddy has a really good akuma hates that shit.he was using u1 with him then after he got hit with denjin then the safe jump stuff, id just follow him with a palm. he always tried to teleport backwards so i didnt have to worry where he was going.

I don’t think ur buddy has a good akuma

I use akuma too and if i saw you spamming palms i’d just throw out a DP. Don’t chase with palms unless you wanna eat a DP or ultra

it’s safer to just dash in, block air-fireballs, throw a few of angled hadukens, and continue to patiently move forward.

Cornered akuma’s will want to ex-DF or teleport to escape. Stay at mid-screen and punish.

i just like denjin.
i think it looks cool and it is fun to play with.
i only play gouken, so denjin is like an exciting new character for me!
lol, i suck with it though.
with shin sho, i always know what combo i am going to do in each situation, so i never get my wires crossed during execution.
with denjin, i get caught up trying to decide which variation to use or how long to charge and i end up blowing the opportunity.
i need more practice and planning so i can remove that sort of decision making from my playstyle and concentrate on other things.

akumas demonflip isnt invulnerable like goukens. and i was talking about AFTER a denjin safejump setup he would try to teleport out of the safejump attempt, THATS when i would palm.

also… theres really no way akuma will hit ultra after any palm unless its like not spaced right at all : \ my friend has a good akuma. you i guess just misunderstood me.

The jumpback Forward reset after EX Palm FADC is side specific. Only seems to work from 2P side.

Double side switching works on pretty much everyone.

Ya that one has some weird properties. It’s definitely not side specific, but it might be char specific as i’ve done it on 1P side before on more than one occasion.

Hmmm, I dunno about that one, man. Certainly doesn’t work on both sides against Ryu. Set up the dummy and it plain doesn’t work on him from 1P side, yet the recording works from 2P side. Still, more testing required.

I just tested it. Works on 1p side with Ryu. Theres a slight difference in timing, so recording the motion won’t work both ways.

Actually i know why it’s working on 1p side. I had counter hit on. I took it off and now I can’t do it on 1P side anymore.

I just tested it on the full cast then. For definite, works on both sides against Makoto, Honda and Ibuki. Works to varying degrees against most of the cast from 2P side. Doesn’t work at all on some, mainly characters that have a ‘pushed forward’ neutral hitbox which makes the EX Senkugoshoha hit later meaning that you start your dashes from further away and don’t get wacky looking backwards jump. I think that could be remedied with a jump in to start it, so that their hitbox shrinks and you land closer than you would be able to get than from just walking up.

I think double side switching with Tatsu FADC will be more versatile in the long run.

oh alright. and i meant that i would ultra the palm, not block it and then ultra. it’s the same thing your friend might do on aggressive boxers that like to spam ex punches.
