The point of my post was to help you get used to holding a stick, I didn’t say it’d help you with specific execution.
‘Soft direction circle things’ help you use your wrist instead of your whole arm.
Just practice and keep using a stick from 2-4 months and you’ll get it easy.
I modded my stick to Sanwa parts. It helped a ton. I can play every character better than on pad EXCEPT for Viper.
Viper I am still struggling and getting so frustrated I want to quit.
LMH Seismo is the execution equivilent of a staircase combo or SF AE FFF on stick for me.
H almost never comes out. I have to mash the crap out of it (same with Nova’s fly unlfy LMH combos).
I cannot Seismo consistently. The motion I use that works at the moment ( a very exagerated forward, down, down forward) wears out my wrist muscles to the point I can’t do enough to chain seismos, ect with Viper.
I can’t do her box dash loops.
Super Jump either:
a. cancels in normal jump instead
b. burn kick comes out instead
c. doesn’t IAD fast enough to hit for the box dash series.
Yet in spite of all of that the input display is showing that I am pressing down up. (except when BKs come out)
I’m begging you Viper section. Please help. These things are herp dep and I am struggling with them like they are 1-frame or something. I am at the point where I might quit UMVC3 because I can play every character better, except my main — which doesn’t make any sense.
Were you having these problems before you installed the new parts? Transitioning to stick didn’t change my super jumps or chain combos a ton and I haven’t heard of that problem often, so it might be the physical components of the stick that are messing you up. I have had a lot of problems with shoryuken motions though. I figured something out the other day that sounds obvious but helped me a lot. A shoryuken motion is forward, down, down-forward. It helped my execution to think of this as “forward, fireball” and just not finish the fireball. Good luck with the super jump problems, I don’t know what to do about those. It sounds like most of it would be components of the stick. There aren’t any other directions in between, it’s just Down-Up?
I had the SAME epiphany with the SRK motion on stick, which helped me tremendously. On pad I always thought it was forward, QCF, but thats not the true input.
I’m getting better as I’m just simply grinding out more hours with her in the training room and taking the risk to play her in actual matches. I can do her combos now somewhat consistent and chain her seismos decent.
Great news man. Are you on xbox? I’ve been looking for someone who plays Viper, I don’t really know the matchup against her very well. My gamertag’s “The G 39” without quotes.
Hey whats cracking B.O.P.,

Just wanted to see how you’re doing on stick man. Its been about 3 months for me and I feel like I’ve made MAJOR progress. I can staircase loop now, which I could never do on pad. I can get up to 7 rapid seismos on both player sides, never could do that on pad. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still free as all hell but I can execute higher level combos. Maybe I can share stuff that I drilled, let me know if I can help.

Apollunai
