Random thoughts as i listen to the stream: Currently on Glitter Freeze.
Slow paced so far…but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Really picked up with Stylo and Super Fast Jelly Fish, but that could also be because those are the two i’m familiar with. Really liking Empire Ants also. The synthesized beat is mesmerizing. it’s really obvious Gorillaz took a whole different path with this album, and half way through, i’m enjoying it.
…and now the whole thing freeze when *Some Kind of Nature *began…God damn it.

Just finished listening to the album on the NPR website and loved every second of it. Will definitely grab a copy once it’s officially released.

I don’t buy albums very often but I’m pretty excited about putting down for this.
I’m reading that the release date from one of the local stores is the 5th, I heard it was the 9th.
This is a band i will always support. I only torrented demon days cause my special edition got cracked on a trip once =.(
I remember when they first came out though. No one in my area was carrying their album. I would go to target praying it was there for days, but was never successful. Finally was able to get the self titled in Toronto of all places…Oh 2000. lol
I can confirm it’s dropping here on Friday but the folks at the store said it might come in tomorrow. I’ll take some photos of the deluxe/special edition if anyone cares for an early look.

This is really good. God damn. I thought demon days was good, but I think this is gonna be considered their magnum opus in a couple of years. It’s like 60’s 80’s and 90’s pop melded with soul hip hop coated in some artifical(plastic?) back-beats. pretty sick stuff.
- Just wanted to add that I’m happy they went in the opposite direction of Demon Days. You listen to them both and you can see the Demon Day’s pessimism compared to Plastics Beach’s optimism, it’s like their perfect companions to each other.
Unlike Demon Days, it’s hard to listen to Plastic Beach in separate chunks, its just that good.
It starts off really strong, gets weaker towards the end but overall really good.
I made it through the whole thing, only disliking Sweepstakes
Now you have a soundtrack for your life, Demon days on rainy days and Plastic Beach on Sunny ones.
