Tried out the Ray assist. It has a slow start up, but it OTGs sweeps to something like a 60 degree angle.
hmmm im still debating on whether or not I want Jill and Shuma. Guess ill wait for more vids.
Do his assists help Dorm much? Dorm already has 2 otg options (4 including lvl 3 and liberation).
Do any of the assist help with zoning or controlling the space in front/mid screen?
Is Shuma good for point or does he need meter to do good damage? I really have no idea what type of play style he would be considered.
My core so far has been Storm and Doom. I can’t for the life of me find a 3rd that I actually enjoy. I used Wolverine will success but got bored of him quickly. She Hulk is ok to use. Do you think a Dorm ? Storm A Doom B team would work ok? I’m fairly certain I can do the crossup trick of his with whirlwind, not to mention that is the best gtfo projectile, plus Dooms missles are great with Storm and seems like they would help out Dorm as well. I need a character thats deep enough to keep me learning for a while, and I need them to vibe well with Storm and Doom. I think Dorm could be my guy…I would appreciate any input.
She Hulk is nice for the unblockables.
Ok, so I haven’t read this whole thread, but I will if necessary. Basically my team is Team Keepaway, I don’t want 'em near me. **MODOK **on point(Mostly because I’m training with him, **Barrier **assist. Not really getting to much use of it besides w/ the CPU, might switch to Balloon Bomb), Arthur(My most solid character, Fire Bottle Assist), and Dormy(Love Flame Carpet, Stalking Flare, Choatic Flame, and…hell, I just love the dude, lol!; Purification).
I come here asking for keepaway tactics, but in general would be great, too!

I have used a team of wesker(samurai edge or ghost butterfly)/dorm(dark hole)/doom(plasma beam) before.
I like doom beam for the mixups and safety it gives your characters when u dash in. with wesker, u can beam and then teleport in front or behind, and with dormammu u can use the same mixup. with both characters those mixups lead to full combos.
samurai edge is a nice otg assist but dormammu imo, doesn’t really need that. U have 3D liberation, u have purification and u have flame carpet in the corner. what doom plasma beam and ghost butterfly provide for you is relaunch ability in the corner. end a combo, call your assist, and OTG with flame carpet. then just launch with :s:
In my opinion, if you build a team like that, u should probably start wesker on point since his bnb combos require no meter and build quite a bit of meter, and have dormammu as second. i’d say the goal would be to do a lot of damage with wesker and then tag combo out to dormammu and end combo with purification chaotic flame or level 3 otg. then zone or rush with dorm depending on pace of the match and when u are out of hyper bar just go back to doom or wesker to build more meter.
and maybe some of u guys have not played great weskers but wesker is able to zone, and get inside zoning attempts. every gun attempt allows for a teleport mixup and beam assist helps greatly in keeping that technique viable.
mossad is correct in that wesker does not provide much in terms of assist for dorm. Anything wesker can do other characters can possibly do better for dorm. However, wesker provides a solid character that can build a lot of meter and does not need meter to be effective. That is what a battery should do. however doom is much of the same so having two may be a little redundant.
I see so basically I need to either replace Wesker or Doom by another char since they fill the same spot right ?I guess i’ll keep Wesker since i’m better with him than Doom. Now what would be a good third char ? Right now it’s Sent for me (obviously he goes with everything so yeah I’ll just use him to fill a spot.) but any other chars ?

How would Dormammu work with Hulk and Spencer? Hulk benefits alot of Dark hole assist to get in and to get more damage in his combo’s 959k damage with 1 meter, Spencer as battery for dormammu, is dormammu a good anchor as opposed to spencer who I think is a great anchor, because I can make spencer my battery and use dormammus dark hole to get in
also the DHC synergy is there,
I don’t care for Dormammu as an anchor, just because so many rushdown characters get absurd shenanigans with level 3 X-Factor, and Dormammu really doesn’t. That being said, plenty of people use him that way. I would order my team Hulk/Dormammu/Spencer, personally. Although Bionic Arm -> Stalking Flare, when done properly, lets Dormammu get 3 charges with his hands; it’s a pretty nice combination.
I use Dormammu, Storm and Doctor Doom. Storm can help keep characters back, Doom is good for starting off combos for Plasma Beam, and Hidden Missiles is good for helping keep back too.
I haven’t tried this yet, but how does She-Hulk (Torpedo) / Dormammu (Dark Hole) / Iron Man (Repulsor Blast) sound? She-Hulk’s Torpedo can be thrown around like a projectile assist and sets up some very nice unblockables for Dorm. She-Hulk’s also a hella good battery and benefits greatly from Dorm’s Dark Hole assist. Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast is just awesome in general as it prevents anyone from getting close no matter what direction they’re coming from.
I disagree Dormammu is beyond being just a monster with Level 3 X factor, Dormammu can kill characters with chip damage alone, and he gets a much needed speed boost and recovery on moves gets much better for em, not to mention I think Dormammu does great in a 1 v 1 against other anchors, but each to there own.
My issue with Dormammu as an anchor is that
- I don’t always save X-Factor for my last guy since if I have to use X-Factor to extend a combo and kill a character, I’ll use it
and
- His assists aren’t good enough to warrant using him as an anchor.
I mean Sentinel gets away with being an anchor because L Drones is an amazing assist and XF3 Sentinel is beyond scary. XF3 Dorm is definitely scary thanks to Stalking Flare, but I’d still rather stick him in the middle.
I’ve been thinking of running Haggar / Shuma / Dormammu. Purification assists let Haggar nail some nasty combos with Super Splash, and Dark Hole would help out his pressure. Shuma beams help Haggar with rushdown. I need to hit the lab with this team, but I’m already thinking of some nasty shenanigans.
Not only because of Stalking Flare Chip kill prowess, but because of Dormammu’s Dark Spells Maxed, they basically end anything including Sentinel. In my opinion Dormammu is best suited 2nd or 3rd on a team, which position between the two his better for Dormammu depends on the team.
I do enjoy seeing the different teams and how other players use Dormammu.
Dormammu is solid in XF3, you can really abuse his teleport + Stalking Flare shenanigans. You can either rush someone down or chip them to death. Chaotic Flame is also extremely fast, you can basically punish someone for doing anything besides blocking with it, and the damage in XF3 is enormous.

I’ve tried Taskmaster but I just can’t get on with him. Going to give Tron a go for the GTFO flame thrower assist to help Dormammu.
Well after giving up on Dorm for a bit for Team Cleavage (Trish/Storm/Morrigan), I came back to him and tried building up a point team for him. I have one team I’m comfortable with, and I’m working on two others
Dorm (DH)/ Trish (PAB)/ Hulk (AA)…seems to have awesome synergy for me right now as I can switch between my rush down and my annoy to hell style with Trish, I can chip to hell with Dormamu, I have an anchor who can put people down in close situations, especially with X-Factor, he also functions great as a ‘GTFO’ button. the team has one glaring weakness and thats beam characters, my only option then is Trish on point…this is especially true of sentinel who seems impossible for me as Dorm
Dorm (DH)/ Trish (PAB)/ Ironman (UB)…My current in progress team - the weak link is Ironman, I just havne’t played him much, but his beam REALLY helps to lockdown characters, and give me time to charge hands. The team DHCs well as well. Arial rave, purification xx flame super xx and you can get easy additional damage off simply doing a second super motion, everything will connect. The big hole though is a lack of gtfo me assist like Haggar or Hulk, seems to require a ton of practice to get going well, but I see potential here.
Dorm (DH)/ Trish (PAB)/ Doom (any assist really)…similar to the above team, only I like Doom on point much much much more. I’m just 900 times better with Doom than ironman, however there is absolutly no DHC worth doing with him on this team except maybe Trish xx Doom. Doom feels more like he’s pure assist and anchor and not part of the team…but his beam and rocks both do a good jub of shutting down other projectile characters and hidden missle woks REAL well with Dorm.
But right now Trish & Hulk seem to be the winning team.
