Good Partner for Hwoarang?

I see your point. Right now I’m mixing it up between having him on point and on anchor. I just thought that he did surprisingly well on point. People do sometimes turtle like you said, but I’ve found that just jumping in like crazy sometimes will overcome that. It’s retarded that I can often stuff or at least trade (in my favor) with SRKs

not retarded at all have you seen his jumping splash hit box! its huge, if you predict a roll, you can sometimes either safe jump or hit with the splash, on several characters its a very good stradegy, esp when gems are activated for attack or meter gain people are gonna get scared and you just blow him up

Am I the only person who uses Jin to aid Hwoarang? Hwoarang’s Mixups are just too effin’ good, when you match that with Jin’s Brick Shit house hits and Spacial Traps, you can have a lot of really good moves going at one time.

i litereally just did that online the BNB for 630 lol i won in 12 seconds lol hwoarang Launcher > cr.lp, clap, shoulder breaker, jump splash, bnb into super

Haha nice dude! I think one of the reasons why I do well with Hugo on point is because people, after taking a bit of damage think, “oh I still have 60% life, I don’t need to swap my character out yet.” And then I land that big splash combo and kill them. This is especially relevant when they have their better character on anchor. Sometimes I avoid doing too much damage at first just to give them that false sense of security.

Hwoarang/Law. synergy is the best I’ve found in the game so far, it’s like their combos are made to fit each other. also, with Hhwaorang on point I have great AA, and usually when I tag in, my opponent is either being juggled or on the ground. even if I fail to create an opening with wake up pressure I can still get a safe tag in with shaolin kicks that sets up mixup that is nearly impossible to react to.

nah, I’m using Jin as a partner as well and it works fine

I use Ryu because I can switch cancel after H.HH adn EX charge Hadoken for a 1 meter super. Also when you Cross cancel (Alpha Counter) you can tag to Ryu and do cr.mp, cr.mk xx H.tatsu.

Oddly enough Juri is a very good tag partner for Hwoarang too

I’ve been doing decently with Hwoarang / Steve lately, but I think Steve isn’t that great. He does good damage, but lack of overhead or low into his better combos kind of sucks even though his punish damage is amazing and his switch cancel with Hwoarang is alright. I hadn’t thought of trying to do an EX super charge after H.HH switch cancel, Steve’s super does do pretty good damage… I’ll try that when I go home.

By the way, what are you guys finding are the best ways to switch into your partners? H.HH or is Sky Rocket better? They do the same damage, but one gives a ground bounce and the other gives you a high launch.

Pending partner really, I would always use H.HH vs SR because she comes in for her cr.HP jc HP etc. and because she also gets a free EX charge super for stupid damage.

I use Hwo and Nina. The great thing about these characters is that both can tag out for free mid combo. Hwo’s hk hh and Nina’s ivory cutter from a juggle give them enough time to safely switch out. Each character sort of covers the other’s weaknesses and together they do tons of damage. Nina’s high priority pokes help against footsie heavy characters while Hwo’s dp and strong rushdown help when you want to get in there and go toe to toe against other rushdown characters who might overpower Nina. Still, my Nina generally destroys people when Hwo can’t get the job done.

I have Hworang on point with Marduk in the back. I find they have good synergy, especially when Hworang is starting the combo.

I play the same team. But the way I play hwo is more on the footsie based side like with nina. St.mp gets me lots of good mileage in footsie battles, plus been working on my hit confirm into raw launcher game so lmhh isn’t something I depend on.
