Golden Token Thread

tekken 5 would bring more money.

who plays 3s in San Diego? Me? Tony? Ernesto?

EVERYONE in San Diego plays Tekken 5. Whereever it’s at, there’s people playing, and they’re not pushovers.

Also MV doesn’t have 2 machines anymore. No one is gonna play there now, it’s only 2/3 rounds… Plaza Bonita Tilt is going to be much more packed now at 3/5 rounds…

Only + MV has is that it’s going to be open til 11 p.m…

good point tekken 5 is pretty popular… but it still sucks ass.

hmmmmm so whos gonna b at gta tomorrow? ill b able to finally make it. i want to c if my just defending got better playing against a real opponent.

Sorry to just barge in, but I would play 3s if they had it in San Diego… Golden Token’s a fricken five minute walk from my house. It would give me another game to play if there’s a tourney hosted when I’m down (other than CvS2, that is).

problem with TEKKEN 5 is that the owner of GOLDEN TOLKEN can’t afford to get one…they’re too damn expensive. you’re looking at at least $6000 bucks to get a tekken 5 machine because they dont sell the board alone yet(only the complete system). i dont think the owner NAM wants to spend more than a thousand on a fighting game. and plus this is a shoryuken forum…i dont think anyone’s insterested in tekken 5.

im going to GT tomorow as well. lata.

dawg i can link you to how many different tekken 5 posts/threads.

but not at GT man…like i said owner can’t afford to get the machine. GT don’t make a whole lot of money. think about it. shit i think it’s a good game, but it just wont happen at GT. and plus, it’s about to be on console in a couple of weeks, no point in getting it now. it’s too late.

The best way to obtain Tekken 5 is if SDT banded together as 1 large group and approached Nam about it. If it’s anything that will get his attention, it will be large numbers. If they brought a flyer to identify themselves as, phone numbers, etc. It would make an even larger impact and sway Nam towards the purchase of such a machine. If it did happen, a rough estimate is that Tekken 5 will be anywhere from 25-50 cents, 1 sit down battle cabinet. The price/difficulty of the game will need to be thoroughly discussed, since this is a business proposition.

It’s pretty much what my Initial D team did to even get Nam to think about Wangan. After he bought it, everyone turned away from the game and went back to Initial D except for me. That’s why it’s tough to talk to him to purchase new games, since that bigassed investment went down the drain in about 2 weeks. Anywho…

I’ve just notified GTA of the  for 3rd Strike. This is what you can expect if they pick it up, which there is a 90% chance now:
Ships in at a minimum of 2 days.
Battle cabinet.
Next to MvC2/CvS2.
25 cents.
The decision isn’t 100% finalized.

If everyone shows up on Thursday, drill him for 3rd Strike to reinforce the idea. Then you’ll have it.

Also, has he considered selling some of his games? no one touches KOF2002, martial masters, or star wars pod racer at all. He shoul;d replace his non played fighters, that are getting no money and are cluttering up room, with up to date fighters, and more cvs2 and mvc2 cabinets, he would make mad bank, ppl wait along time to play a cvs2 or mvc2 match, more machines, more people playing all the time, at twice the profit $

The only time people wait to play CvS2 or MvC2 from my knowledge is on Thursdays plus the weekends, which isn’t much since he’s only charging 25 cents a game, so he’d be lucky if he covered the electricity for them. Martial Masters and Ultra Balloon would be gone if 3rd Strike was picked up, since it’d be a battle cabinet.

Nam has had his games listed for sale on the GTA website for some time now. Rays Game Centre(that shit arcade in La Jolla) screwed him over when Ray said he wanted to buy some games. So Nam loaded them onto a truck by himself, and drove them over there. When Nam showed up, Ray changed his mind, and pissed off Nam. They haven’t spoken since to my knowledge.

Wow thats pretty fucked up. 3rd strike would be next to marvel eh? sounds good.

also, how are the sales in the shooting games? i like that time crisis 3 and HOTD 3 are there, good games, as well as police trainer. i never see anyone touch ninja assault though. Also, if 3rd strike does well at GT, would he get street fighter aniiversary collection ( the one with all the SF2 characters in all thier forms appear for the 15th anniversary ) as well? Gt would be hot hot spot che che che.

Also, the fact he has cold drinks in there for 1$ only is awesome, would he ever consider food? like maybe a small microwave, and some heatable hot dogs and such? too keep us inside, and not outside heading to 7-11, more $ for him, che che che

selling those old games sounds like a good idea, but i’ve noticed those games being on sale since GT opened, and none of them been’s sold that i know of. still see the same old games there. no one wants to buy those crappy games. third strike might be a good idea, or guilty gear, but TEKKEN 5 will definitely not happen, NAM is not gonna invest over 6000 bucks when the game is about to be on console in a week or two, even if he has the money, it’s still not worth it, might of been worth it two or three months ago when it first came out to the arcades.

dont be like DAN back then, focused too much on parry and got hit by stupid shit where he could of just blocked.

So its yall faults that he wont get tekken 5.

busters.

anywho. I’m just saying that tekken 5 would get more players to go to GTA. For the $6000 investment coupled with the fact that there will be a console release, it’ll be bad for Nam. Tekken 4 died out in arcades when console version was released, I believe it’ll happen the same way with Tekken 5.

But 3rd Strike won’t bring anyone. It’ll just give US, the players that already go to GTA, another game to play. Oh and that one guy who posted. 3rd Strike won’t bring in a whole boatload of customers. And adding another CvS2 won’t bring in “mad bank.”

I don’t know what the best bet would be for Nam. I think that he should get rid of an entrance fee. There were more customers before he had that, a lot more.

yea, same thing im thinking too about the entrance fee, but can’t blame him though, he had to keep them little ten year old kids with no money away somehow. he can get into some deep shit if all them little kids running around in there and hurting themselves.

and 3rd strike, i dont think it’ll attract more players either, it’ll just be another game for us to play like you said. people would drive around trying to find a new game, but i not for an old game. but it’s a good trade if he can get third strike for the cost of utra ballon and some other gay games that he has there. at least third strike will be making more money then ultra ballon and martial masters combined. is he trying to get rid of those two games and putting third strike on the siamese setup?

i think even capcom fighting jam will do better, even though it’s a crappyass game, but at least it’s new and hopefully attract some new players.

i dont even know why u guys suggested that he get that new racing game whatever it’s called after you guys already get INITIAL D… racing games always die out way too damn fast. initial d was doing fine, didnt need another new game. if NAM wants too make some money on time crisis 3, he should lower the price. how much is it now? 7-8 nickles? not sure, but i’ll play it and try to beat the game if it was like 4 nickles. it’s a tyte game.

how much does 3s cost now? damn, that just sucks for nam either way. if anything, i’d prefer him not to get any game so’s long as he can sell the others and make profit. just stay open, damn it.

anyways, anybody going to gt today? i might be going, but not so sure. isac, is there a tourney today?

Sorry i got class tonight but i will go afterwards like around 9 for casual.

Questions and the answers.

Initial D has always been making money, and for a while, it started to taper off. There was a suggestion that since Arcade Infinity had Wangan and it was doing HUGE business there, we should pick up one as well. So we grouped together and went to L.A. After checking out Wangan, everyone agreed and so did Nam. We bought Wangan. After that, a load of people started playing it. Then they turned into heretics and took back their words of praise for Wangan, and went back to Initial D.

Now that we’ve lowered the price of Wangan to 50 cents, the crowd is returning to it. Once again, more words of praise for Wangan. Something was fundamentally fucked up about it.

The public is fickle. Next.

The reason why Tekken 5 wasn’t purchased is because Tekken 4 didn’t make shit for money since SDSU had it, and just about everyone else. So what is Nam thinking about this? If Tekken 4 didn’t make any money when people asked for it, why should I bother spending $6000-some dollars on Tekken 5, charge 25 cents for it, and watch it take over a year to make its money back.

I’ll leave trying to get Tekken 5 to SDT. Next.

The entrance fees stop kids from just blitzing through the arcade, you may have noticed a smaller amount of kids with MULLETS ripping through the arcade trying to steal stuff. It’s all in business. A cheaper entrance fee can be taken into consideration later when things settle down. But the way I think of it, it’s a dollar, it’s like buying a soda for Nam. I prefer it over $2 at NC, or $10 at Boomers so I can wait in line for hours on end to play Initial D only twice.

No more mullets. Next.

3rd Strike would make a helluva lot more money than Martial Masters and Ultra Balloon combined. At least people would recognize the game, than thinking, “What the fsck is ULTRA BALLOON?”

The price for 3rd Strike? I think it was $400, if even that.

Bang: Time Crisis 3 is 35 cents last I checked, compared to the $1 at other places.

Food: Man, haven’t you guys ever pulled a pizza and breadsticks run from Little Caesars? All you need is about… 8 bucks, get a pizza for $5, and 3 bags of breadsticks with the rest. If you’re feeling slick, sneak over to 7-11, buy a large nacho, take out the bag, and fill up the plastic tub with chili and cheese for dipping breadsticks in. Food at GTA has been discussed since there’s still a bit of a kitchen left in the back room from days of old. That’s still iffy though, I haven’t spoken to Nam about it.

Yes, Wangan turned out to be a planned plunder. Now that we know, we’re listening. I brought it up that you guys were feeling neglected so now is your chance to get what you need, want, crave. I wish we could sell the rest of those crap assed games, but nobody is buying.

I’ll be at GTA tonight after I get off work. Or you guys can assume I like going to the arcade when I’m dressed in a shirt/tie/slacks. Arcades are high society. :encore:
Group up, ask for 3rd Strike. Receive 3rd Strike. Play, parry, whoo.

well done.
“READ MY LIPS: NO MORE MULLETS.” :bgrin:
