Godzilla: King of the Monsters May 2019.Trailer out!

I’ve always been a fan of the Kaiju genre, but now the OG gets his reward for decades of being trivialized. Holy shit.

I’m not ready.

Godzilla has long been the king of the monsters, so yeah it’s pretty great that he finally gets the big blockbuster film he truly deserves (a good film, that is).

The trailer alone has me optimistic; this may be subpar by our hopes and standards, but anything past the midpoint between shit and STYLISH going towards shit?
Fuck no. This looks GLORIOUS, and coming off of Pacific Rim this is profound with the Kaiju genre’s history in mind(yo the return to true apathetic malevolence alone, AND WE PISSED HIM OFF).

The only human element I need in my Godzilla movies is Don FryeMike Haggar trying to stop him.

…Now that has to happen, fan-made or no. Yooooo

Look at this wonderful Empire cover…

That doesn’t truly convey how big he is in this; he was above skyscrapers in the trailer, but other than that, this captures how he’s gonna be well;
a force of nature that wants all of us dead.
Holy shit, again.

you have to remember though, after the fail of godzilla american ver. No one thought a good godzilla movie could be made again. Godzilla 2000 was in theaters but hardly anyone saw it.

The final battle was pretty much the same thing that happened in Godzilla vs Biollante

Muto has 8 legs? In the trailer he was flying also, he must have more then 1 form

4 years later, I am a happy man. Watanabe is Serizawa. Whether the original, or a descendant, dunno…

The International Trailer…

I just lost all my pants and boxers.

im still wondering whats the story with muto? Is he a alien? Is he a clone of godzilla? Wtf is he

Most likely some man-made thingy

Dont get the point of having a winged muto when they could have made it super fuking hype and brought back Mothra.

The whoe scene with the jets falling out the air b/c of the wingspan air pressure was so GDLK.

See it in imax or bust.

Well, i read minor leaks which explain the MUTOs are

Spoiler

ancient rivals of Godzilla’s species. These monsters are from a time when radiation was higher. They feed/absorb radiation, making our nukes a liability

That’s how they are explaining all the kaiju. All prehistoric.

And all inducing ballpark the same thoughts and feelings as when I read Lovecraft, or something similar.

Only fitting!
