Question would be: What is the Japanese SRK equivalent?
Or do SF4 players from Japan not use forums?

Man I’m psyched about GodsGarden. Even though it wasn’t that big compared to the other tournies, the skill on display and the level of production involved made it an epic event.
It would be interesting to find out from the top players what they think could be improved in SSFIV.
They were always interest in console character, is just that every body play arcade so no opportunities to play them.
If tehre is a new atraction to console character, it might be more about the expectaion of ssf4 being on arcade including them that because of one tournament in US.
basically you should think like 98% of japanes players don t care about other countries as they will never go there and as no offense but there is no other country that seems to have a stronger communauty than the japanes one.
jpn SHRK equivalent is 2 chan chanel, kind of old forum
Do pro have job?
yes and no, some just do some part job, but if you think like living with sponsoring, no.
all player pay to play
to give an exemple I calculated that mago play like maximum 50 dollars a month.
that less expensive than smoking…
about food, I can tell you than they are not looking for healthy way of life. it s just than naturally japanes diet is better than american one.
about complaining, sure some time they complain seeing a TU fadc killing a gouki that made 5 combo with 1 frame link and many effort doesnt feel right, but nothing very strong, they accept the game the way he is.
players are no starting to change to console. arcade scene is far stronger, is just that godgarden is in console that all. this is more like a special event, arcade remain the big part of sf4. console part is dificult because cultarally you don t invite someone in your place in japan. you eat outside, meat outside ect etc etc
so having 5 people in your place for playing sf4 is not going to happen so often.
If ssf4 doen t show on arcade I can tell that people wioll keep playing the sf4 version. the console version already have 8 new character and nobody switch, it s not 8 more and some change that will change the fact that people don t meet inside house…
about console choice , when I ask generally they have x box, because it s the cheaper one. they just use it for practice so they don t really want to waste big money. I only asked like 5 players but it s was nearly all x box.
about sf becoming a job, japanes law is very strong about money and game. it s completly forbiden to make money playing any game. that why even during tournament there is no cash price as it s completly forbiden. so except if they change the law they can t be pay for playing or for winning. they sure can be game test people like bas for cvs2.
I hope I answered some of the questions.
about console people really have to understand than japanes are not against console, it s just that you don t bring someone in your place as appartment might be very small( many people live in like 20 square meter ldk appartment…
are they any tournament on 26 for godsgarden or is it just an exibitions? can we enter the tournament juste like last time to try to make it to the final tournament(4 open place)?
funny, I thought this was a Q&A to the JPN players, not the random French dude living in Tokyo.
Will there be anymore Japanese players coming to American tournies?
I was pretty sure 2channel was the place. It really brings everyone in.
Wait so none of those tournaments in Japan give out cash prizes? WTF why do they even play lol.
just wanted to help by eliminating some questions. but you are right, sorry
Japanese tournaments have paid out money, but you need corporate sponsors. They don’t use the entry fee money as prize money, hence why almost all entries for regular tournaments are usually around $1.
As an example, Godsgarden tournament paid out $1000 to Mago for taking first, because HORI was the sponsor who supplied the money. Anyway, I’m sure the Godsgarden staff will answer this question in more detail than I ever could.
As for why they play… well, I’ll translate that too. That oughta be an interesting answer.
Ooh i need to be updated on when’s the next event gon be… the 1.25/1.5 GG…
edit: oh found the link for the official page already
FUCK YEAH!!!
this is great
Can u still ask them my questions, please?
I would like to hear from them what they have to say.
Thx!
I forgot to include this question, and to me, this is the most important one. So if you can only ask one of my questions, please ask this one! Thx!
To Daigo:
What does it mean to be strong?
I guess I’m curious about the Xbox/PS3 dynamic. The first Gods Garden was on Xbox so I’m wondering if that’s the standard over there. Also do any of the players have their own arcade sticks or are they provided?
Cool idea, Reno. Thanks.
Do you ever deal with frustration or slumps, and if so what is your mental approach as a player to get yourself back on track?
I would love to hear them talk about Dictator a little : his hard match-ups, what they think are his strengths and weaknesses, and the possibly new stuff that has been discovered about him.
I’d like to know why they chose their main characters.
Do any of the famous VF5ers play SF4 competitively? Fuudo, Gorgeous, HighKickRadio?
Fuudo plays Ryu in SFIV. He was one of the challengers in Arcadia’s first Daigo Kumite.
Yeah Fuudo has vids all over youtube. He’s the “second best” Ryu in Japan they say, even though I think Momochi’s Ryu is better.
Simply, The law prohibits to give winner a cash for prize in Arcade in Japan.
Godsgarden was held at event hall, not arcade, so we can give out cash prizes.
In addition, GG#1 is sponsored by a person who loves fighting-game and Daigo. He invested us at all the costs. Hori and Madcatz supported us with lent us sticks. and Hori provided us RAP-EX for winners.
