Eh, I have a few friends who play Juri really well.

I’ve managed to beat them both, but they’ve both beaten me too. If you can beat their Juri’s, my mask’s off to you.

Lol, Ash Catch’em ass nigga.
thnx for the compliment but my juri ain’t complete by a long shot. but you’re vega has improved alot since the days i used to main ken in sf4.
I would still lose to your defensive Ken bro. In those days you played heavily defensive, and I’m kind of aggressive vs non-charge characters, so you pwned me all the time.
Infiltration has a really good Juri, but videos haven’t surfaced yet. He made first place at Tuhon 2010 with Laugh.

That was the worst M.Bison I’ve ever seen. I’m not even joking.
That video vs daigo is a very important one. The amount of mix up that is caused by fuhajin is underrated. The reason being, everyone assumes that the dangerous fuhajin are the low ones (because she uses them to combo against all situations, crouch or standing), or her high one, as it beats jump in’s. The middle one forces a crouch, which could be used in oh mix up mindgames.
Nevertheless, Also, remember that on anti air you can store a fuhajin. I think we as Juri players sometimes rely on the reset too much and go for dash unders or cross up’s after a reset. But Don’t forget that as long as there is forward motion towards the corner then we’re in a good position. That first round was really good and the reason being, he took very few risks to push Ryu forward towards the corner and punished him every time he could.
The fuhajin’s were used the way they should be. To force the player to go “wait, i wasn’t expecting that…OH SHIT!”. It reminds me a lot of the old top down shooters in which you would be a jet fighter or spaceship fighter against a swarm of enemies. And you’re in a situation and go “THERES NO ESCAPE!”. When you die you look at the trajectories and realize there wasn’t a safe spot on the screen. Sometimes. I like to do this with Juri. Not only with her fuhajin, but force a situation where there is escape unless you really know the match up well.
Dodging attacks with low strong kick is something I wish I knew how to do.
I dont know why I’ve never watched this match, and I dont know why I’m writing this, but maybe it will spark some interesting conversation on high end Juri Play.
Just some tidbits.
End of first round. This is what I’m talking about in my thread about FSE resets. Personally I don’t like to do dive kick follow ups unless I know they’re gonna hit all the way. Other wise, he could have reset off the dive kick for mix up.
Second round. Again, in a discussion about FSE, notice the overhead in the middle of a fse combo. If a player is smart…they will block. But this is where mix up come’s into play. Sometimes a persons defense will work against them. Also, the end of the round went to floe not because of his reactions, rather because FSE got Valle scared, went to jump back and floe said “WHERE YOU GOING?!”
Match 2\Round 1 : End of the match again…could have been lost because of the reset not being used. The end of the combo was a ex.pinwheel. Hitting the sc.strong would have KOed valle.
Match 2\Round2: End of the match ended in a blaze of awesome. c.forward under the fireball. Why? Why did Valle go for a hado at that range? Mess up? Nevertheless, this happens often after a counter, i’ll use the low forward to go under fireballs. Never on purpose, just…happens. Sick cancel into super though.
Match 3\Round1: Watch out. Juri DOES built meter while in FSE. So Valle must end the round or maintain momentum. Had Floe hit a KD, FSE again.
Match3\Round 2: FSE again, needs that last hit. But I prefer sc.strong. for the reset. Can someone tell me why one would not want to use that?
Match 3\Round 3: What was that? Floe just…relied on throws and overly aggressive juri dive kicks to get in…bad move. Always ends badly.
Match 4\Round1: Just good aggressive juri with a lot of great reaction speeds and nice counter hits.
Match 4\Round 2: Nice read off the high counter, Valle punishing the jump up. See, FSE should not change your game play. Floe said “I have only a certain amount of time to make this work”, and he came in dashing hard. Valle said “…sucker…”. Just walk forward carefully, let him corner himself and take away his options in the corner.
Match 4\Round 3: Wow, another super. “Floe never mashes anything”, good shit. I really like the Mix up in the corner. Notice the announcers were faked by the fireball stores. He must have let go of the fireball somewhere and stored another one. The announcers said “hes stored 2” but never did. I wonder if Valle thought the same thing.
Match 5\Round 1: Just, didn’t look good for floe there, Valle just was full on option selecting the back dash and staying on him. Shows how Juri when pressured is not good for her.
Match 5\Round 2: Again, another example of Juri’s lack of being able to do much when pressured. Her back dash is not like rose or chun li’s, her pinwheel gets beaten or trades, her counter can be really badly punished. So you block and wait. Unfortunately sometimes that never works in your favor.
Match 6\Round1: I really like the punish on the sweep. It’s something I recently rediscovered, that Ryu’s sweep is hella punishable.
Match 6\Round2: Again, more FSE aggression. When flow uses FSE he does a LOT of damage. Notice those last matches that I talked about he did not activate or when he did he just did some reckless shit. He did miss the juggle again. More Sekku mix up. Missed the link on that.
Match 7\Round 1: The question that I hope everyone asks on this, which would have done more damage? The combo that he did, or to double store and then go for a full combo?
Match 7\Round 2: Notice the speed of the activation on the FSE. Thats because Valle did not beat Juri while FSE was on and it builds while activated. This is something people need to question…am I going to attack juri now and pressure her because her gamestyle has changed with FSE and I can beat her out, or do I back off completely and not touch her so she wont build meter?
Match 7\Round 3: Nice Juri offense. I love the advantage that the fuhajin release gives. It’s very important for juri’s offense, not pinwheel. The ex pinwheel was well placed.
Match 8\Round 1: Again. Floe does not mash out EX, so this is bad. When Valle gets the momentum going Juri cant stop him.
Match 8\Round 2: Copy and paste last round. Floe just lost it and missed a lot of cancels off his low forward.
^nice post
but remember is still was a bit early when that came out so floe didnt know how to use juri as he does now like he did at EVO.
Does he still use Juri? I thought he switched to chunli and rufus and basically used rufus exclusively in EVO10
Oh well we still have edma and 2 korean top players.
as i recall floe used juri only once during EVO against tatsu. but yea he stuck with rufus most of the way
That upsets me a great deal. Its like Arturo switching from Rose to Dhalsim when the fire got to big.
I’m Juri all the way. The thing about this game is taht I play characters that “FEEL” right. Juri just…fits me well. She feels better than rose honestly, and I played as Rose exclusively in Vanilla.
Went to see the SSF4 Asian Championships and sadly Infiltration switched back to Akuma. Even Ono commented that he really wanted to see his Juri come out.
