Cammy’s backhand whiff glitch, done near any shoto’s haduken. The move completely whiffs and puts her at huge disadvantage.
Haven’t seen it mentioned to this detail, so I thought I’d share my observation on the lifebar glitch.
-
I’ve never had it happen on the very first match in a new room. It’s always happened at least after the very first round.

Whatever names and health were there at the end of the round prior to the glitch happening will be superimposed over the current health and names. Now, if you both ended up with very low health at the end of the round prior to the glitch, then it’s really no big deal, as you can still monitor the life bars, except the current (and accurate) health is RED not yellow (the yellow is leftovers from the previous round).
Now, if you or your opponent’s health was high at the end of the previous round, then it becomes a friggin’ guessing game on the health, at which point I just play like I can’t take another hit (and even minimal blocking).
And here’s a glitch that I haven’t seen mentioned. Honda’s sprites will “rip and tear” if he ends the round with a successful torpedo. It has no effect whatsoever on the game itself, but silly nonetheless.
This is a common misconception. It isn’t that Zangief’s SPD has active frames; it’s that Zangief’s whiff animation is cancellable into a SPD of the same strength.
What tends to happen is that when the punch button is pressed too early the whiff animation comes out, then when the punch button is released it cancels the whiff animation into a neg-edge SPD.
The piano method doesn’t actually work unless you perform it on a single button, because the whiff animation is only cancellable by the button that triggered it.
The ranking bug is by far the most noticeable bug for me. 0 rating no matter what makes me sad.
Funny bug with Dhalsim in training mode, do Kick Yoga flame pause then resume. Do another it will come out from Dhalsim’s back !!
Yeah, that’s what’s going on. The new souped up graphics are probably just superimposed (can’t think of a better word :/) over the old graphics.
The “Balrog glitch” is NOT a glitch, thats how the new tap works, and you cant negative edge it because of the 2P/2K command.
Sirlin mentions that in the Akuma thread talking about the demon warp, said you couldnt neg. edge dragon punches because of the new way the command works.
i was playing around with gief against a blanka player. in the first round he used his electricity and i hit him to win the match… we both got knocked down but when gief got up to do his victory pose he still had electricity swirling around him. he stayed with electricity swirling around him for all the other rounds of the match, weird.
Yeah that’s mentioned in the first post. It happens with a lot of the rapid tap moves for some reason. I think the electricity is kinda funky.
Blanka used Thunder Wave!
Zangief was paralyzed! He may be unable to attack!
One glitch that seems to happen to me often, don’t know why:
About 25-30% of the time when I go for a crossup combo, I’ll land the crossup as well as the followup attack (cr. jab, or cr. fwd, etc.) yet my opponent will somehow make a really low flip (think CvS2 or 3S low-jump) and land RIGHT BEHIND me, which generally means I eat a throw and lose position. Anyone else get this?
Yep. The follow up hit after the crossup is grounded.
I ran into an interesting problem in a ranked match a couple of days ago.
I was DeeJay, and I was playing Fei. I would be in crouch block, doing my DeeJay thing, and he would work his way in, then chicken wing. Now, here is the weird part. I couldn’t go to from crouch to standing in time to block the chicken wing. This happened everytime he would try to chicken wing me.
I do not think it is my joystick, and the game wasn’t laggy at all. Maybe it is my joystick, I dunno, not ruling it out yet, I am just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.
We could have a signal to noise ration problem if we argued balance changes here. I say we keep it to stuff that doesn’t work as intended, instead of stuff where the idea would be to contradict something that was done delibrately.
Are you saying that there is a situation where chicken wing is unblockable if you are in a crouching position? I don’t think that is the case. I may be wrong though, I don’t know much about Fei, but I know I never had any trouble blocking Chicken Wings before =]
That is probably, probably related to network smoothing, even if the game didn’t look laggy there probably was enough to cause that probalem because the CW is a fairly quick move. Had the same problem with a Ryu and his overhead where I knew for sure I was blocking high, but it still kept hitting. After playing that guy a couple more times I ended up noticing there was a certain amount of lag causing funky gamelay, but I didn’t notice any lag the first game.
i’m going to post a single player bug! when fighting against akuma in arcade mode as guile, if you do the roundhouse flash kick he freezes and you can throw him wooo
