?!

I seriously did not know that, even about original ST. That is some serious broken-ness. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people abusing this.

the irony of the topic title is killing me.

Add another…

A few rounds after the nightly HUD screw up I chose my character, as the match begins I keep hearing the sound the game makes when you select your character.

Every time I pressed a button Vega slashed, and I got the confirmation sound.

it got annoying real fast…

I was wonder howlong it would take SOMEBODY to notice. I thought it was funny.

I have two that I haven’t seen anyone say anything about. Keep in mind that I have the XBox360 version:

  1. On a Standard Definition TV, as the game starts up (specifically, the first screen when the music starts), the all the text zooms in and out randomly, as if it’s trying to switch to a HD image or something. Not a big deal, and it usually stops by the time the main menu comes up; however, there was one time when it didn’t, and as I picked ‘online match’ (or whatever it’s called), the game zoomed in again and froze.

  2. Sometimes, in online matches, after both characters are selected, the game reverts back to CPS2 graphics just before the character select screen fades out. This also allows you to see who your opponent picked, but overall, it’s a pretty insignificant glitch, cos you have to have both already picked your characters to make it happen.

pfft, this game is turning into trash already and its only been what, 2 months? I say we go back to vanilla ST with the new sprites.

It would be just as glitchy. Same game, remember?

ive had both of them happen to me all the time except with 1, it ALWAYS freezes.

has happened every now and then but doesnt really matter because the match starts right away after it happens

Don’t forget the graphics glitch - blanka electricity, honda slap, fire, etc.

Actually, that’s not quite true. Strangely enough, Classic Mode feels more solid, because a lot of the weird glitches involving code changes and stuff are gone. Things like being able to 720 in any direction with Gief. Other glitches will still be there, yeah, but it just felt like the game was more stable and solid. Can’t really explain it.

Oh yeah, and one last REALLY minor glitch. Has anyone else noticed that Akuma’s name doesn’t scroll onto the screen during the Vs. screen? His is the only one.

And it would be nice to add Akuma to the Random Select.

I’m referring mostly to the glitches you come across in the online mode, really. The lifebar glitch, disconnects, etc. But I think HD Remix itself is a lesson in hacking old arcane code without the resources to really check it all.

Still like it more than ST, though :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you mean like the whole screen switches back to the CPS2 style? Cause that would mean that the old graphics are in there, we just can’t turn them on.

A full on classic graphics mode would be nice, instead of the sprites only version.

You forgot Zangief can only perform his super from right to left.

Also, one time I noticed in the menu Akuma’s fireball was on his shoulder instead of in his hands.

I have noticed if you are in the guide menu while the player select screen is up it drops people from the game (360 live player matches)

Cammy’s backhand whiff glitch, done near any shoto’s haduken. The move completely whiffs and puts her at huge disadvantage.

Haven’t seen it mentioned to this detail, so I thought I’d share my observation on the lifebar glitch.

  1. I’ve never had it happen on the very first match in a new room. It’s always happened at least after the very first round.

  2. Whatever names and health were there at the end of the round prior to the glitch happening will be superimposed over the current health and names. Now, if you both ended up with very low health at the end of the round prior to the glitch, then it’s really no big deal, as you can still monitor the life bars, except the current (and accurate) health is RED not yellow (the yellow is leftovers from the previous round).

Now, if you or your opponent’s health was high at the end of the previous round, then it becomes a friggin’ guessing game on the health, at which point I just play like I can’t take another hit (and even minimal blocking).

And here’s a glitch that I haven’t seen mentioned. Honda’s sprites will “rip and tear” if he ends the round with a successful torpedo. It has no effect whatsoever on the game itself, but silly nonetheless.

This is a common misconception. It isn’t that Zangief’s SPD has active frames; it’s that Zangief’s whiff animation is cancellable into a SPD of the same strength.
What tends to happen is that when the punch button is pressed too early the whiff animation comes out, then when the punch button is released it cancels the whiff animation into a neg-edge SPD.

The piano method doesn’t actually work unless you perform it on a single button, because the whiff animation is only cancellable by the button that triggered it.

The ranking bug is by far the most noticeable bug for me. 0 rating no matter what makes me sad.

Funny bug with Dhalsim in training mode, do Kick Yoga flame pause then resume. Do another it will come out from Dhalsim’s back !!

Yeah, that’s what’s going on. The new souped up graphics are probably just superimposed (can’t think of a better word :/) over the old graphics.
