I actually found a cab for this game today. Played it.
I had me some fun, but it seems like a masher’s dream. I mean, 13 hit combo with Jam just by drumming the buttons? :looney:
You can mash all you want, but mashing won’t give you mind games, pressure strings, and high damage combos. 
Same could be said for any fighting game.

ok, seriously though. some people seem to have this strange misconception is that gg is a combo game. it’s really not. yes, it’s true that some characters have potential to kill you in one combo if they build your guard bar for a short period of time (i.e. johnny and eddie). and it certainly is important to know the set ups and execution for high damage outputs for whoever your character is. but like spirit juice says, what’s most important is mind games and space control. so yea, it’s basically like any other fighting game.
Except for Soul Calibur, no matter how good you get, you will always get your ass beat by some button mashing kid:arazz:
Rushdown against the comp seemed to work pretty well. It’s not like I’m going to get into this game. I have enough to deal with attempting to play Marvel and 3s. I can’t handle any other games any more than just playing them casually.
And that’s why that game sucks.

Actually, I liked SCII… but not at a competitive level. It was fun to play casually.
Also, Grandpa… just an FYI, GG AI is probably the worst AI I’ve seen in fighting games. Seriously. It’s terrible.

I got my ass kicked by a button mashing fat bald smelly kid using Spawn at this tourney, and then started bragging to his friends that he beat me.
After that, me and my friend realized that Soul Calibur aint a game worth practicing anymore after he got beat by a button mashing Kilik:arazz:

Hmm…soul calibur is really hard on button mashers if you know how to block and space, especially since most “button masher” likely moves are punishable with launches, step, tech crouch, etc.

Yeah, but they button mash that they do unpredictable low attacks and other stuff, so even blocking can be a problem.
