Hes still credited on the movie. He died in 2014, not 1996. This movie is just coming out now. It was probably written 4 years ago, and modified over time.
If that… Up til ramis’s death it was a totally diff story. The original gb3 was about opening hell on earth. They had that script ready to go since 1997.
Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Wiig are funny in limited capacity. They’re not terrible but they are basically the same character in every movie. I think the blonde girl in the movie (Kate something) is funnier.
I like Wiig. I don’t like McCarthy. At least not in a starring role. She’s kind of like Rebel Wilson, Hollywood keeps insisting that she’s funny but it’s just not happening.
Or like DC trying to convince me that Cyborg is cool.
What I don’t get in the trailer is that it mentions the original GBs 30 years ago and how a new team is taking over, but the movie is a reboot than an actual sequel.
Watching OG ghostbusters right now. If the trailer is any indication, they missed the mark on the humor by a long shot.
That said, the standard being set is done so by some of the greatest comedic actors of modern times. Following up Bill Murray would be insane by any account. Sinilarly it looks like venkman was written for him, which means that he’d have a role where his defining characteristic would have a better chance of excelling than most.
There’s also the sitation where you have to decide whether you try something new or do more of whats already there. Tricky situation and one that is incredibly unfair to the four women starring in it.
