Ghost Song is the Metroid we need and deserve

Nice, spread the word to others if you can

I’ll be kinda sad if this doesn’t make it to Wii U. Might be the first PC game I ever play. Maybe.

Man this kickstarter deserves more. I wasn’t aware of it until it was mention in the mighty no 9 thread

Getting different stat boosts and abilities based on what you feed your pet sounds awesome.

This would be perfect for 3DS, too bad it can barely manage getting a Wii U port.

Orochi why are you so hard up for this game? I backed it too but you are particularly enthusiastic about it.

@furrycurry

I’m more hype for Mighty No.9 actually, Im just surprised that that game gets $1,000,000 in a day while this one got $54,000 in 30 days. Granted Inafune being involved and his beef with Capcom obviously is a huge benefit to that kickstarter, while Ghost Song has no big name talent, but still you would think a Metroid clone especially since we haven’t had a 2D one in 9 years would garner more financial support. I guess Mega Man is more popular than Metroid.

Check out this out, it’s being made by some random indie guy but looks equally impressive as Mighty No.9 and Ghost Song. It might be the most atmospheric game trailer I’ve ever seen it looks like a dark, depressing fusion of Zelda and Cave Story.

^Oh that is very very nice. I’ll have to wait for the PC release though because this game just robbed me…

The only version of Shantae I own is the Risky Business I think it’s called on the iOS. It controls like ass naturally. I look forward to the Steam release. I also hope the first and the third game get a Steam release as well. Get the whole saga on one device.

Also I think that the reason why Ghost Song didn’t get more money is because it didn’t get enough publicity. Also it looks A LOT like Metroid in the same way Mighty looks a lot like Megaman. Not saying that’s bad but maybe some people honestly saw it as Metroid clone and nothing more. We know there is more to it to that, especially the dashing for combat stuff and more, but from casual glance it looks very Super Metroid.

GS was the first kickstarter I backed and it was really pretty sweet getting the emails from Matt White every couple of days. I would say I’d like to follow more KS stuff but I’m worried I would spend even more money than I already currently do on gaming

That’s my point, people are donating to Mighty No.9 because it’s a Mega Man clone but didn’t donate to Ghost Song…because it’s a Super Metroid Clone? It seems hypocritical, although I agree the lack of publicity was definitely a big reason why it didn’t generate a ton of money. A thread was made for it on neogaf which is big exposure, but it didn’t get articles on gaming sites like Mighty No.9 did and maybe the fact that the developer is some random unproven neogaf member made people skeptical. The star power of a name like Inafune is hard to compete with. Oh well this game got more than enough funding and I’m curious to see how the melee beat’emup combat ends up, it’s weird imagining SOR in a metroid game lol

You will. You so fucking will. On the plus side you know you are helping someone live out their dream.

he’s keeping his Paypal donation line open so for anyone who didn’t donate yet there’s still time, also you still get the kickstarter rewards

Dat ambiance, I recommend using headphones or at least cranking up your volume

I think I might start ignoring everything about this game until it comes out.

That was awesome. The fact that the gameplay looked like a real gamer playing the game for the first time and not some schmuck trying to blow everything up or a speed run tech demo won me over.

After the atmopshere, my favorite part about that video is that ammo must be recharged so you can’t spam shooting so it works exactly like the stamina meter in the Souls series.

Also you can preorder on the site which goes towards funding the game for those who missed out on the kickstarter: http://www.ghostsonggame.com/

Pretty excited for this game, from that little showing alone it seems you may have multiple paths around the Butler. Having different methods to tackle a situation or alter the story will keep me interested for quite a while.

Two of my favorite games ever in one. I could not be happier with what I’ve seen from this game so far.

liking it. Liking it a lot. Here’s hoping it’ll get out to the public soon. I know I’ll play whatever demo shows up for it. Time to use search engines for more than just porn again.

Who the fuck needs Metroid or any other metroidvania just inject this directly into my veins:
