ever since i first posted this thread, slayer has been my main character since i first picked up this game, i have been sucessfull
with him, the only way i have been sucessfull with him is by decieving the other character, and then attacking, using slayer is very much like playing possum, wait (and/or) decieve, then attack, he has a few very powerfull combos, the rest is just poking 2 hits and then wait for the others attack inorder to counter and attack with a harsh combo

The above statement by Slave is the bare bones truth about Slayer. Hes not flashy, hes all about landing his target combo. I dont even jump in with Slayer, no point. You really just have to play Slayer a lot against good comp and learn what specials and normals you need to look for to counter, and above all, BE PATIENT. And become good friends with 2P.
Mike: I tend to agree with BOF and Slave on this, that combo is just too damn strong. That one combo turns the whole match around, off of one S.

The reason that post was so short SC, was because I didn’t want to repost everything I’ve posted in the forums over at gamecombos, and mainly, because by the way the topic was heading, I figured I’d get bashed for being retarded.
And I did.
But the truth is, when playing Slayer, you need to break yourself of the mind set of having rush down, or wake up, or lots of flashy combos. You don’t. Period.
Granted, you CAN rush down, and you CAN wake up, and you CAN do flashy combos, but they are NOT practical in any sense.
BoF basically summed up what a week of posting figured out over a gamecombos, and I’m glad I don’t have to repeat myself. But as for players being able to predict Slayer because of limited moves. Bull. Players get scared, cause they know what’s coming.

Slayer’s all about pressuring your opponent from about 2, 3 char lengths away, building tension, and punishing a mistake. He just is. He has LOTS of things he can do, but all are extremely basic. He’s not Sol. Get over it.
Anyways, I can’t go into depth here. No will to. You want to know what I think, and how I feel, go read my gamecombos faq. I don’t think I’m better because I live in Japan. I don’t think I’m better period. I do feel I’m better qualified than a lot of people to teach Slayer. That’s just my opinion.

the way that your post came across to me was basicly telling a person (who many of which havnt played slayer for a very long time this being srk and srk being full of newbz) to just focus on landing and setting up the rc combo. and i find that not a good idea to put into an unexperienced players mind, just like u mentioned above there are AA option pokes ect spacing, but the first post didnt mention this i understand it was rushed but im just explaining my possition. no one is hattin trust me.

When your learning the 4 slash try and push forward for the first hit, and then work on the 2 - 3rd hit connecting you can bash just not for that one connecting hit.

Also does anyone use air combos with slayer? Theres a nice 10 -12 hit that links from the neck bite, hcf HS, Dust, Up, p, k, s “leave for 3 hits”, k, qcb k.

your second question: a few air combo setups are counter hit pile bunker, c.p,c.s>>air combo or dandy step version kick.
now i have a question for drezial or anyone else who knows for sure, CAN u mash out of the stagger at the end of that combo and block pile bunker? the hardslash stagger that is…
Yes you can. Not terribly hard, either. At least, the computer seems to do it on a regular basis.

How do you do Slayer’s grab infinite…?

It’s easy to do, just half circle back Heavy Slash, then dont try and dash just walk towards them and continue. It takes a while to get the distance down but you should have it in a few goes.

Now.
The 66 dashs, the last 6 is buffered into the 3214 throw, which you roll up to 7 to “cancel” the dash. It’s VERY important you cancel the dash.

As for the sx4, 236k, rc, h, 236k, rc, h.
End it with a 214p d-step and S. It’s absolutely safe on block.
Keep in mind, it’s H, and not 6H that you’re using in the combo, otherwise you’ll fuck it up. You’re not “staggering” them, you’re comboing. It IS garunteed, except the last hit, which is why you end it in 214p, S. If it hits, fine. If it gets blocked, fine.

isnt another k strength dashpunch garanteed though? and if u want a semi safe option u can always just dash fwd and grab…o_O

a k strength d-step should be garunteed, but I’m just saying, in case you can’t seem to land it, S is safe.
And, um, no, you can’t dash back in and grab. Any smart person will jump back, or ducking poke you.
10-11 grabs is like, max. You can probably do a couple more, but you’ll push yourself away eventually, long before they’re dead.

hmm in your other post u came across as saying it isnt… whateva il just test it out myself, second you CAN dash in and grab yes its a setup and its not garanteed but i was stating this on the impression that the k step was not garanteed as well…which i still dont know for sure.
