GGXX Venom

what’s Venom’s best DUST COMBO?

That ID combo Bakablitz posted is Venom’s best dust combo. The main objective with Venom is relatively always scoring a knockdown, since you don’t want to give the opponent any more opportunities to escape your lockdown than absolutely necessary. The ID combo give guaranteed knockdown, and it leaves you with plenty of time for advanced ball formations.

And on top of that, Venom’s ability to do damage in the air is pretty pathetic for the most part anyway.

Just to cross reference it, the thread with kerorin’s guide from the old gcc thread is HERE.

Something you may not have known: As it says in that thread, the ball summon pattern is determined by the last ball summoned, however when you use the teleport (623K) you go to the oldest ball, which is usually the first ball summoned.

edit: ehehehe…he…gamecombos is back up

Thanks for the info.

I have no problem locking a newbie in a corner. They usually look too much at the trajectory of the balls.

However when I am facing someone who knows the game, who keep on rushing with Sol, use a lot of super jump, even when his joystick was damage (his joystick couldn’t go down), I can’t win. I lost yesterday 5 times in a row to the button C and D. The priority of Sol in GGX seems too good.

How do you deal with rabbit players (=people who keep on jumping) without your balls in GGX or GGXX?

Well, generally with Venom, your Anti-airs are going to be 6p(f+A) or an early 6h(f+D). f+A has nice invulnerability and is good as long as the person isn’t directly on top of you or crossing you up. Those two should keep you good and safe against people. And Sol is just something you learn to deal with. The best way to beat him is baiting his Dragon Punch. The bad apart about Venom is that unless you can do some of the more advanced combos you prolly won’t do too much damage.

Aside from the 2 AAs mentioned above, you can also try using c.HS or a HS Carcass Ride to keep Sol out of the air. The CRs will form a barrier of sorts, so he’ll think twice about jumping in.

Ohhh I didn’t know you could do f.A and f.D for anti-air
All I knew so far was the balls formations and I got some ideas how to lock the computer on the ground…

I will try that next time.

Thanks for the info…
