My impressions of CFJ:
[]Cross-up properties feel similar to 3S; if they do a special get-up, you can cross them up with a hopping dash…
[]3S character’s parry is MUCH MUCH EASIER then CvS2. Think JD with instant recovery (I would often walk forward immediately after parrying, since i usually hold the direction until I recover. O_o )
[]Jedah is not “broken”… I would immediately puit Anakaris > Demitri > Jedah in terms of Darkstalker Tiers.
[]Every “style” has a way of getting out of cross-ups, either by rolling out of the way on wakeup (Warzard, Darkstalkers, Alpha 3), quick recovery (3S), delayed get-up (SF2), or whatever the fuck Ingrid has.

You cannot kara-throw (tried repeatedly, you cannot cancel your normals into throws if they whiff or connect)
My personal tier-list goes as follows from my 6 hours of playtime.
A+: Anakaris, Jedah, Demitri, Karin
A: Mukuro, Leo, Ryu, Bison, Guile
A-: Zangief, Felicia, Urien
B+: Sakura, Alex
B: Chun-Li
C: Ingrid (too early to tell IMO), Guy
D: Hauzer, Nool
F: Yun
My personal favorite team of the trip was Leo/Urien. Urien can deal great damage, has a parry, nice overheads and great supers. His tackles are best described as “tackles on ice”… as he slides really far after he hit/makes you block them.
Leo is just insanely good. He has a limb for almost any occasion, can prevent you from jumping away with his kicks, has a 720 super which does 35%, and the best jump-in I’ve seen so far in the game (j.2FK). Not to mention his sword special has some crazy awesome properties.
Yun in my opinion at this point is totally useless. He has zero range minus lunge punches, his basic combos do no damage, his supers suck ass, he lost some of his best normals (far s.MK, c.MK) and he’s just basically CvS2 style Yun minus roll cancel.
Karin / Anakaris / Demitri win the “scrubbiest character” award of the night.
Karin’s B&B is brain dead, her trip is like 6~8 frames, and has insane range/quick recovery. Her normal throw sets up her cross-up game, and her CC is ultra easy.
Anakaris just sits back all day long and throws little spells, supers and coffins at you. EX Coffin drops like 9!!! coffins at different ranges over the course of 5 seconds (seriously too long), and has stupid-ass easy rush-down. Having no super-flash for his EX grabby-hands makes it very, very hard to react to them, leading to stupidly annoying 25% command grab mix-ups from 1/4 of the screen away. And don’t even get me started about his EX snake-attack.
Demitri has similar mix-ups with his bite command super, with his j.RH (whiff) -> j.MK -> random standing/crouching attack -> bite super is an easy, almost impossible to react (at this point) set-up that leads to more and more of the same mix-ups. His jumping patterns are also really, really annoying. j.RH beats everything on start-up, and j.MK is a cross-up / equally good jump-in, leading to very precise anti-airs in an unfamiliar game.
Overall, the game feels a bit strange… the cross-up properties aren’t something I’m used to, leading to really fucking weird things (Robin doing Demitri’s super next to me when I’m infront of him, but he switches sides with me after the super starts and I can’t block it? WTF?) but other then that, I feel they’ve spent a good amount of time fixing all the stupid shit that could’ve destroyed this game. I still can’t figure out ultimate guard, and I wish Urien had 2 juggle points instead of just 1 after a c.FP. :xeye:
So, there’s my very short summary of the trip. If you want some specific information, feel free to ask.
