I like seeing the ranks because it kind of states the quality of the person you’re playing. Unless you’re already really good at this game, that’s kind of an important thing to notice imo. btw, does anyone know WTF is up with the lag? I’ve seen like 70 people with 200+ ping and only 3 people have anything close to 100.
BGs to any of those dudes with like 200/300 ping that challenge me, and have the nerve to pick a ridiculously laggy stage like Potemkin’s. And if I try to set it to a less laggier one, they unpick and pick the laggy one again. I dunno who you guys are, but fuck you.
I’d just like to apologize to all peeps I might have done this to. Randomly my games will drop but a GIANT percent of the time it will happen at the end of a round. I really wish I could go in and apologize or something. I promise I’m not doing it on purpose! Of course it could be them dropping after taking a round, which I wouldn’t put past a lot of these GG dudes.
Also don’t take offense if the game is super laggy and someone drops after a round or two. It’s probably because they wanted to give it a chance, but it became unplayable.
You can tell a difference in a dsync and a drop more often than not. Things like all of a sudden beasting on someone when they were blocking fine beforehand is a big sign and you can see other things too like an odd stop in the flow of the game and then everything working in your favour.
I didn’t just try to give myself an ego fuck, the guy was playing well, I solved the two traps he had and beat him back badly. He drops and then when I pick him again giving him the benefit of the doubt he drops again. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see he wanted to keep his beloved E Rank 10 game streak intact.
uhm IIRC, at evo, japanese almost lost to our slash players in the pools.
yes they are ahead of us. obviously, they have far more resources and a lot more time with the game than we do. much longer headstart. they have more overall good players, but you would be suprised what out top players in anygame can do to the japanese. we just dont have enough of those players.
Maybe, but not that many of the Japanese players even go to Evo for Guilty Gear…you mainly have Mint, RF, Ruu, etc which aren’t even on the level of some of the best Japanese players (like Kaqn).

Kaqn is above Ruu/Mint/RF? When was the last time he won anything? I’ll agree he’s really good, and I’d even give him top player status, but saying he is above Ruu is retarded. Ruu has been playing just as long as Kaqn and he is just as skilled if not more skilled.
Mint and RF are VERY close behind them. All of them are considered very high level Japanese players. Kaqn, however, is not considered a “best” Japanese player.
My point was, he isn’t at the highest level. He’s obviously still very good.
Kaqn actually did beat KA2 in some tournament. Not sure which tournament it was but that was at least one that I know of. Also, Kaqn won SBO GGXX…or rather, it was his Millia that won that tournament for his team, beating Woshige. In any case, I consider kaqn above those players.
Nonetheless, we already had this argument in the other thread, no point bringing it up again.
This is simply an incorrect statement. Ruu is the best Bridget in the world. He has never failed to qualify for SBO if I’m not mistaken. I think that would indicate that he has consistently been at the highest level of play. In reality, him and Kaqn are about equal in skill. They are both top players. They’re both good at different things.
Check the “Deny Slow Connections” option. Not sure how slow the connection has to be for it to ignore it though.
Edit: And RedBeard, Kaqn has been in the finals in almost every SBO except 2006 (where his whole team got ocved by H.H). He won GGXX SBO 2003(?) with his Millia vs. Woshige’s, he got to the finals in 2004 where he lost to Matsu’s Millia, and he got to the finals in 2005 where his team won (with Ogawa). He also has by far the best Order Sol, and was winning tourneys with OS even though he was low tier in Slash. And…he has not failed to qualify in SBO2007, not sure if Ruu has qualified.
Edit: He’s also gotten very far in the GGigs tournaments, even beating FAB in one of them. Although…I don’t know that much about the GGigs tournaments, I need to download them all someday.
Badset with this guy named Wild Card, would consistantly drop during the third round right before he lost, we fought three times and he kept doing it, I gave him a chance of winning and he didn’t drop, just another poor sport.
Man, I’m getting sick of fighting the excessive Ky Players online, p, k, s, hs, 123 k, frc 654321 kick, 2, hs, vapor thrust. I’d like to see some variety but that shit wont happen.
bad games to exigent, it almost looked liked he was usign AF or just mad mashing, thanks for the 4 wins though. and if i ever drop or anything i usually try to play the person right away, and if i note lag i leave the game before i even pick a character. but so far everyone else is ggs.
