GGXX: Anji Mito

Anji’s impossible dust isn’t about damage but instead about setting up a perfect trap.

There are two ways to do Anji’s impossible dust. You can either use the jump cancel method, or the faultless defense method.

I prefer the FD method so I’ll start with that. Anji’s impossible dust is simple I.D., HS, {land} 623HS.

To do this, after a connected dust you hold up (obviously) as soon as you can, tap two buttons for a faultless defense and then quickly tap HS. Tapping Faultless defense counts as one of your two allowed “jumping actions” so you will fall right after the hard slash connects. After you land quickly do an On, catch them and go from there.

The jump cancel method is the same premise, but instead of Fding, you quickly tap up and jump cancel towards your dusted opponent before you hit HS. They both give the same effect of a connected HS that allows you to fall and catch with an On.

You can follow up the on with an Issen Ougi, or Air combo, but it adds a measly 50 damage at the expense of 50% tension or the loss of your perfect trap setup. Bleh.

Hope that helps.

I’ve been trying to do Anji’s fujin loop in XX, but I’m having problems. Can someboby tell me what I’m doing wrong?

I do 2s, 2d, 236s, RC, 66, s, 236s, k(hop) this is where the problem arise, after the hop, I’m not close enough to do 2p, k, s, 623h(On).

Are there other ways to do the Fujin loop, if so can someone please post them?

Fujin Loop Strats…

Evil Grunt, Don’t do the hop at all. A fujin loop is kinda meant for flash anyways but if you want to know…

You can do it like you said but after the first loop your timing should be perfect so you can either do another loop (s, 236s) or be able to just simply do a k,s into On after first loop. Or to get real flashy I wait until they are into the corner then kinda run in and do. k, s, 2s, 2d, 236s, rc, 66, s, 236s, s, 236, s, rc, k, s (or HS) On. Into butterfly trap.

Another way you can start it is to hit a Shitsu weak version in the corner then dash in a little and do slash, fujin, slash, fujin, slash, fujin, rc, 66, hs or s into On. (Big Damage)

Or another way is to do the loop with hs without using s at all. Very hard but worth it if mastered. Tons more damage.

Need anything else tell me. I am still online.

That loop only works in #R because the hop is incredibly sped up. In #R, you just don’t have to ability to do it. You have to do the one that Majin posted. One point of clarification about that though… After the 66, 5S, 236S you have to wait until after the last frame of the fujiin recovery, then do 5S, 236S again. Its character specific (Dizzy, some of the lighter chicks) and the only person I’ve seen do it is Matt (Azure). Personally, I’ve never been able to do it, but oh well. I never really play against anyone who uses a fujiin-loop-able character.

Alright, here is my take on Fujiin loops:

I’ve never liked them, in fact I’ve always treated them as flash over function in a fight. When you look at the loop and everything it does, the risk is simply not worth it. Fujiin loops on the average add around 30-35 damage as opposed to your basic RC’ed fujiin into juggle into On. Not bad right, 35 damage is still 35 damage with no extra tension used.

That’s all well and good, except that there are only a few characters you are going to be able to get that real good loop on. Even if you do get it going, it will be extremely difficult to pull the whole loop into a command grab finish without using more tension on most of them. So even if you get more damage, what have you sacrificed? A perfect trap setup, which to me makes the entire process not worthwhile.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not great at the loop, I can do it, but I definatly cannot do it consistently. However, the fact still remains that you are taking a big risk (anything with that tight of execution is a big risk) for a reward that isn’t all that much more impressive. We all know it is mind numbingly easy to do RC fujiin into juggle into On. Why pass it up for some flash and at best (say off a counter hit HS) 50 more damage. If you are really really good at the loop and think it’s worth the shot then by all means go for it. But for every loop that you fail to complete, that’s more damage I got with my basic combo and a perfect trap setup you didn’t get to utilize.

I’ve only ever seen 2 Fujiin loops hit in all the Anji match vids I’ve watched. One was on Dizzy, the other on Faust. That should tell you something about how difficult it is to land. I’ve even seen KBnova go for one and miss it in match, and we all know what his Anji can do. So as far as I’m concerned save the loops for #R when you have the hop to aid in the execution.

thats probably the reason i can’t do it on anybody else. HA go figure

I wonder if in #R for Xbox if they’ll have some way to find a specific person to play with. It would be badass if it did because then instead of just talking about how we play, we could show each other! For instance, I’ll probably never get to play any of you guys in person (except you Grunt!), but maybe we could all play each other online! There could be cross-country Anji battle-royales! Think of the possibilities! eyes glaze over, goes into coma

You can, you just find someone by their gamertag part of the attraction of Xbox live is that it’s really easy to find your friends, there are buddy lists and everything.

eyes deglaze, comes out of coma

Oh, ok.

eyes re-glaze, goes back into coma

Hmm, I wrote a bit on Fujin Loops way back on Gamecombos, I think…

Dunno about you guys but it’s sorta easy for me (but maybe because I practiced it often  ), most especially on Faust, Baiken, Dizzy, and Jam.

XX Fujin Loop:

Basically it’s: 2S, 2D xx S Fujin RC, 66, 5S, S Fujin, 5S, S Fujin, 5K, 5S, On. No need to RC again at the end, actually (unlike what Majin posted), because it’s possible to just go straight into 5K, 5S, On. Save the meter for some other things.

Like Klaige said, if you know how to do it, by all means, do it. You can do about ~230 damge with this on Faust, actually (it’s not just extra “30” damage, really) so I still tend to think it’s worth it.

You can do a miniature version of Fujin Loop on pretty much everyone, actually (as I’ve mentioned in the Anji GCC thread). Just subtract one rep of the fujin loop and it should work on most normal weight characters. In essense it would be something like this:

2S, 2D xx S Fujin RC, 66, 5S, S Fujin, 5K, 5S, On.

This toned down version is hard to mess up, so take that extra 30-50 damage when you can.

Here’s a weird version of the Fujin loop that works on Jam only:

2S, 2D xx S Fujin RC, 66, 2D, S Fujin, 2D, S Fujin, K HOP!, 5K, 5S, On. Same principle but instead of using reps of 5S, Fujin, you are using 2D, Fujin instead (very neat looking, and possibly does more damage). Remember that in order to juggle with 2D, S Fujin, you’d have to wait at almost the last second (before they land).

Here’s another variation of the XX Fujin Loop that involves his HOPS (yes, just like in #Reload!), but it only works on Dizzy:

(Works from midscreen)

2S, 2D xx S Fujin RC, 66, 6P, S Fujin, K Hop, 5K, 5S, S Fujin, K Hop, 5K, 5S, On.

Essentially, that is also how you do the #Reload Fujin Loop (but a tad easier to do), plus you can do one more rep, I believe (then you can do a neat reset at the end with FRC On).

And that’s that that I know about Fujin Loops so far. Again, all credit goes to my Anji sensei KBNova for taking the time to sit down and teach me all of his killer Anji strats and combos (whenever we do meet each other).

I know it does’nt seem to warrant the tension, but against Baiken I get few opportunities to punish for big damage, and it does’nt really matter if she’s in perfect butterfly trap, because she puts me on the defensive. For normal characters after RC, 66, s, s, On to set up perfect butterfly trap. She’s the only reason I trying to learn the loop.

Squelched- let me know when your free for some games.

-Grunt
I agree, I’d take damage against Baiken whenever possible.

Also, Tim and I will be hanging out on Sunday, so you should come too (playing VF and GGXX).

Lovin’ it.

Gamecombos lives agains ladies and gents.

So, is everyone migrating back there?

are you sure its up i still can’t get to it. it just says websites not responding

Why must I have a shit ass piece of hardware for a computer!! :frowning: smacks with the Zessen…still doesn’t work. I’m killing this thing.

Edit: Nevermind, it looks like I’m not the only one with that problem. GCC just isn’t popping up for some reason.

LOL:lol:

my computer is brand new and i’m having trouble so don’t feel bad

It WAS up for like a half an hour…

Man, I just went on a huge posting streak, I swear. All that just to get my avatar up…I’m so pathetic. Anyway, we have all rejoiced over GCC being back up, so let’s get back to some Zessen man talk…here and at GCC anyway.
