Millia is a tough character to learn for a few reasons. For one, she doesn’t play like a shoto or anything too familiar from a popular series. Two, she’s fragile, so you can’t take a Potemkin style beating. Three, you have to learn some character/weight specific combos, or else you…won’t be able to hurt some characters. ;p However, she’s a very strong character and def looks like a lot of fun. (There are both easier and harder characters to learn than her, btw.) Honestly, it’s Guilty Gear, so play who you want…you can absolutely win with Millia. Take 4r5’s advice though and find one character you want to stick with.
For Millia advice, look to Kaqn, Nakamura, and Woshige videos on youtube. All three of them are very solid Millias.
I don’t really think Millia is terribly difficult compared to a lot of the cast to learn. Maybe harder to win with at a scrub level, but she has excellent, obvious uses for anti-air, air pokes, her okizeme is relatively straightforward… she just dies easily.
I’ve been playing Jam lately, she seems like a good character for beginners, IMO.
It can be hard to get in sometimes, but once you’re in she can potentially win the round off one mistake from the opponent. She’s got easy damaging combos (I’m not even talking about corner loops, I’m talking about basic stuff like gatlings ending with 6H > H), her link combos aren’t that hard, good high/low options, corner loops aren’t too difficult to figure out, good set-ups for corner loops, and that stupid FB Puffball (fast, has invincibility, when used properly leads to corner loop and a crapload of damage; scrub’s favorite move).
Shitty stamina aside, she seems like a really solid character, IMO.
I’ve been messing with Jam lately myself. She’s mad fun to play as. The only reason I’m getting around to her now is because of Millia. Plus AC Jam turned me off for a while. She has soo many good tools to use from all kinds of ranges even though her reach isn’t that great. She has some nasty crossups that can potentially lead into the loop, good block strings that give her the advantage, and she just seems like a really fluid character if that makes any sense.
If Johnny is your main then don’t quit him. I dunno what it is, but GG is like one of those games where you never quit your main no matter what imo. After all, I’ve seen Bleed beat Shounen on youtube, so it is possible.
I didn’t really plan to switch. I was just curious who was considered easier to learn.
Thanks for the advice, I plan on staying with Millia but I just need to find some competition. I know there are people here who play, but they aren’t close enough for me to get to
Good, cuz I uckin’ hate Slayer. He’s such a scrub.:bluu: I wanna a bad ass Zappa player fuck some shit up. I’m surprised there aren’t a lot of Venom vids out. Venom players always impress me.
Me :lovin: slayer, by the far the coolest character on GG. I know slayer is easy to learn, but being effective with him constantly seems to be difficult. But I rarely see slayers just beast high level.
The reason is because people can’t stand that Venom has better pool skills than them HATERS!!! Seems there hasn’t been any knew Johnny players this time around.:shake:
I’m also working on an ABA Tutorial; I got the Normal Mode section pretty much done. I’m hoping to have the whole thing done in a week or so.
