Are the characters actually balanced? They are alot more balanced than in Alpha 3. Let’s see…V-Ism Akuma, Any-Ism Dhalsim, V-Gief, V-Sakura and V-Sodom vs. the other 30 characters. Yep, that’s real balanced. I’ve played that game alot and I mean ALOT, so I can tell when a character is unbalanced. Try beating V-Gief with Dan. Then try beating Millia Rage with Testament. I bet I could do a hell-of-alot better with the GG match-up.
Also, I would respect your opinion on this subject if you actually played Guilty Gear more than a dozen times. How can you criticize a game that you don’t even understand? If you played it as much as you do Street Fighter, you would realize that you could “hang” better than you think with Testament. Yes, Testament pretty much sucks, but so does Dan. If you can “hang” with Dan on SF that’s because you know the game really well. The same thing goes for GGX. I’ve seen vids on Testament where he is pulling off 25-27 hit combos. Until you can do those, don’t say the character is worthless. Potemkin and Axl suppossedly suck, but I play them pretty well. The FCD also has alot to do with character rankings as well. Sure, every game is unbalanced to an extent, so who gives a shit?
I think the reason some players “knock” this game is because they fail to face the reality of the complexity. It’s just too fast and too complicated for them, so they make excuses why it sucks. Let’s put it this way. SF mastery = common. GGX mastery = DAMN TOUGH. Why not say what everyone already knows, Street Fighter is just alot simplier.
Is that air-throw Sol Badguy is doing a command throw, or does everyone have air-throws now? Anyone know?

True, I do think some people would say it sucks, when in reality, its because they can’t handle it. Then there are others that just don’t like the feel of it, I find myself fading to this side. Don’t get me wrong I do like the game and will play it(eventually). It all just comes down to personal opinion. Its kinda weird for me, when I first got the game I thought it was the fuckin bomb, but everyone else was burnt out on fighting games, so it just collected dust. Now it finally is being played and I just don’t have the interest I 1st had for it. One downside for me is the fact that it feels MvCish, which for me is a bad thing:cool: . Its just like KOF, I love the games, 98 particularly, but Charlie-God has tried one and didn’t really like the feel of it. Ahhh, I’m still waiting for a KOF with high res graphics on par with GGX, life would be bliss. If Zangief was in the game I’d play that shit nonstop:D

I know, you never did like the Marvel vs. Capcom games. GGX has some similar elements in it, but it’s still alot different. I agree with you totally on the KOF thing. The KOF characters are 10 times cooler than SF. They have WAY, WAY more character and attitude than SF. It just doesn’t have that Capcom logo on it’s label, so most players don’t give it a chance. It’s a sad thing. Hell, after playing GGX, everything looks pathetic in comparison. And the scary thing is, the new one looks even better. I’m actually thinking about trying to get a GGXX arcade machine. I’m sure it’s a long shot, but I’m gonna talk to some of my connections and see what I can come up with. Oh, I also read that the designer of GGX patented all the characters since they are so unique. He patented their moves too. I guess he knows it’s gonna be BIG.
One thing that kinda ruined KOF 98 for me was when I played it that first night and figured out an infinite with both characters I was using. I’m sure they fixed all that stuff. Are you going to get KOF 2002? I’d like to see that. I saw a character select screen of the game (if it was real) and there were a shitload, and I mean a SHITLOAD of characters to chose. Hopefully they brought back the Ikari team. Later man.

It’s not that I dislike Guilty Gear, don’t get me wrong.
But I do agree with Stevefly- it can be MVC2ish at times.
I guess it is too advanced for me.
Believe me, though…if it had any characters that I liked even half as much as my favorite Capcom ones, I’d be playing GGX everyday.
We’ll see once GGXX comes out for home systems, but of course my fave new character would have to be Zappa…the worst in the game by far.
Arc Systems must hate me or something…
Oh, and I’ve had GGX since it came out for DC in Japan…played it a lot more than 12 times over the few years that I’ve had it.
GGX is a very, very high quality game, and it looks like a work of art.
Maybe if it had T.Hawk…

Just a correction, the one you played and found infinites was 95, although I’m sure some still exist in 98. I might pick up on that 2002 for MVS, I’ll have to wait a little though when the price isn’t as steep.
Can anyone give me some useful low hitting combos for Dizzy? Anything decent always seems to come from her st. S. I end up just going from that into cr. HS, QCF+HS (bla, bla, few ground hits). Problem is these type of combos are useless against a close range, crouching opponent. The combo I need dosen’t have to be extremely damaging it just has to be enough to push them away.
Also, does anyonw know if she ANY attack that can be used as an anti-air that’s fast enough and good enough to beat Johny’s jp. S. That move has some angle I tell you. I just end up having to block it all the time. The only decent anti-air I can think of with Dizzy is her cr. S and that move is slow as hell.
One last thing. Can anyone give me some hints on how to use a RC in her combos to give atleast 4 or 5 more hits. I just can’t seem to come up with anything.:bluu:
