i thoroughly enjoy watching u play knut, when i watch most other DJ’s they just kinda do stuff cause they havent fought people that are good at fighting deejay in long sets. But when i watch you I can see that youve grinded out matchups against quality opponents and play very intelligently based on your experience.

Jozhear knew exactly what space he had to be in the second round; he punished almost every single whiffed slide.
The third round I think Kuro got a bit too predictable with how he kept his offense going (block string, Knee-Shot, etc.) and Jozhear was able to defend and react accordingly (anti-airs, barcelona away, all that nonsense).

I would’ve like to see Kuro try to zone Jozhear a bit more when Vega didn’t have meter.

NEW BREAKTHROUGH! Most of Vipers normals seem to really suck…

You could have done a lot better. Still great clips. At least your opponents seem to know something about deejay. in my are i feel like when i win sometimes its the unfamiliarity saving me.

YO…I wanna see this trick more. If you think they gonna go for a low mix-up after a jump-in, just throw out a LK Sobat. It’ll catch people more than you think. Especially if they’ve shown you that they’ll go for a low attack instead of a jump-in more than once (DeeJay’s especially subject to this since he can almost never get mixed-up up aerially on his wake-up).

Trust me people, THIS WORKS.

ya knut definitely didnt have his best game, missed some opportunities and made some bad decisions(especially burning a whole meter to win a round he was likely to win anyway) but i liked his basic approach to the matches.

Da Knut:
That MK upkick into st HK looks weird. Does it work on the whole cast? Really liked your play-style man. Too bad u didnt grap 3rd place.

Also seems u missed the super into ultra against that akuma in the last round after he whiffed his SRK. Think it would have done mega-damage.

it works off one hit of the mk upkick. i haven’t dropped it on anybody yet.

pikotan ftw.

if i remembered correclty ,it is more damage then, airslasher after one hit upkick

Da knut playstyle , lookin like me =D
but ryu really dominate you hard

Good showcase of the Dhalsim matchup. It’s interesting to see that Dee Jay can hold his own at full-screen vs. Dhalsim.

I wouldn’t say hold his own, but he doesn’t have to take damage if played correctly. Match is still ugly. Well played Pikotan.

If i could only understand… maybe it has usefull information

Make sure you’re full screen so you’re not in range to get anti-aired when he throws fireballs you can just knee-shot over them all day when you got the life-lead. Haven’t found one who’s stopped this tactic thus far.

Am I the only one that finds it entertaining to play long drawn out fireball matches against Sim and Guile? I find myself laughing sometimes during games telling myself something like “whoops, lost the life-lead, back to square one: getting in.” XD

as for the video foamo, its definitely spanish.

i understand spanish. nothing really useful in terms of what he’s saying.

against rog and rose their reversals are too fast.

the option selects would work if he timed the meaty better.

if you want i could reproduce the video with slightly better timing.

i’m not good at OS’ing but it would be fun to put it back together.

the OS should work on any move with 6 frames startup (7 frame execution) or more if done correctly

You’d have to be exactly on the dot with your frames, then. That could be pretty tough… -_-

Then there’s the fact you gotta guess the right OS to use…

I don’t really use OS’es charge characters. Non-vharge characters OS’es are so much easier and more practical…

only OS i ever use is on Vega. just the basic crossup MK~Slide if he’s backflipping a lot.

Good videos, solid play from every deejay. Notes taken.

I don’t know my level really.
No false modesty, I’m definitely one of the weakest local SF players (excluding guys who primarily play BB, MK, or MvC3).

I would say my execution is probably my biggest problem, I don’t really have any go-to combos other than always attempting jump mk, cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.mk (repeat). A lot of the time I mess up the link though, and sometimes I just get way too predictable. Especially by going for a throw attempt if they block correctly. Any decent player picks up on this fast.

More recently I’ve been trying to knee shot more, and start the above combo with a knee shot instead of a jump mk as a “fake crossup” and I’ve been having limited success with that.

Other than that I have a bad habit of throwing out some random stuff. HK upkicks to get out of a corner, or EX-Sobat from midscreen.

For the sake of constructive feedback, (and because I have less than a month to improve for Cannes) here’s a video of me from an offline tournament in October (I think). So AE not AE 2012.

For context I’m playing Azza, who is a definite top player, and Ireland’s premier “Lame Bison”. I have regularly played 20 game casual sets with him, and not won one. So even though I lose, this is probably my best ever performance against him.

Great read by him in the last round of the last match. I guess I just got too predictable at throwing a fireball whenever I created distance.

As I said, any constructive feedback very much appreciated.
