Getting damned annoyed, Want to talk about this Poserspeak

Scrub is over and misused. I’ve seen people call other people scrubs for doing some decidedly un-scrubby things (i.e. actually playing to win).

“Scrub Tactics” this has been thrown alot

If the ultimate goal is to play to win the game, can those two words even exist?

I’m not an elitist. I just think a real fighting game fan shouldn’t have to work so hard to prove it. I remember playing SF1 in arcade when I was 5, I’m only 26. Now if I were to tell you " You dumbass scrub, your ass is just salty cuz you free", you’d probably look at me like an idiot.

That’s cool man, I don’t want people to get the wrong impression. I’m not trying to condemn everyone, its just that its not too hard to tell those that are legit from those that are just posers. I know I just registered and all but like I said, I’ve been lurking for years now and I feel that I have a real background so I just wanted to see how you guys felt.

I’m not the best you know, but I know that which is why I’m here. To learn from others. soak it up and ultimately get better. How can I call other people scrubs or free etc, that’s like me saying “yeah I could kick anybody’s ass no matter what the game” obviously trying too hard to be noticed.

I guess youre looking for all generations of the fighting scene to be as classy and have diginity as much as Milk Duds…but I wouldnt necessarily call those hyper dont STFU types as poseurs, I mean when it comes to it and youre playing youre tourney match…sex/age/creed/race doesnt matter for that moment.

I was fortunate to have a brother in his 30s who could shed some light on how things were in the old school how to take a loss and present yourself in tourneys…it wasnt till I was 13 that cvs2 came out for XBL is when i got deeper into the scene.

but those types kind of add a little spice to a tourney or gathering.

who cares?

focus on the game, not what the players say to eachother on the internet :]

Never gets old.

I’m guilty as charged, lol. I wanted to change my XBL gamertag to Little Goten SRK or something similar to show my support for the community, but I decided not to in the end.

i dont put SRK a the end of my gamertag because i dont want to shame the website with my shitty play

Of course Sp00ky says the shit (hes from NY). New rule. If you were born outside of the Tri-State area you can’t use the slang.

Y’all just not that WAAVEY!!!

I guess you could look at it like what James Chen calls, the stream monsters. Or if you’re a fan of MMA or the UFC, how certain people will start booing when two guys are vying for position in a close ground game. If you were a fan, you would appreciate the war for position going on and not boo just because they aren’t throwing haymakers on their feet.

I just thought that I couldn’t be the only person that thought this way. There’s nothing wrong with getting hype at a good tourney or something like that, but for a Youtuber named FlawlessVictorySRK to say “both of these idiots are just scrubs, if it was me I would FADC’d into blah blah blah” is something else. If you’re a kickass player who’s deadly in their game of choice, or hell if you are just a true fighting game fan and have a background and some fond memories, that’s cool as hell. Maybe I’m just a bitter old man lol

That too.

see, this can go both ways…thats the risk i take with my GT and it happens alot. but at the sametime, I’m promoting the site as a resource for whomever I play whether i win or not. lol

It’s like saying ‘noob’ or ‘lolz’ or ‘pwned’ it’s just annoying and stupid to some extent, but people tend to follow trends like that.

I’m actually considering changing my GT to Jigglypuff SRK. I’ve got the spare points on my Xbox right now actually.

I think maybe I’m just mad salty right now…

OP is just mad salty cause he got exposed. stay free. Also where is your Curly Mustache? Lol.

I understand different communities have their own lingo and stuff but it does get very annoying when half the stream chat can talk about nothing than insert player name here is salty or posting the salt can over and over. That combined with seeing the ‘‘marn is in jail’’ or ‘‘oni is banned’’ trolls cause me to usually just hide stream chat most of the time. This was especially true on the CEO and Revelations streams, it gets real old real fast. Especially cause it’s the SAME shit every time, at least be a little creative or even a little funny… /end rant

Seems like every time there’s a big event chat is flooded with idiots, I feel like I’m the only one who would like to watch the stream and get hyped about the matches while discussing what’s actually going on.

What’s more annoying is the people who think they’re superior because they’ve been around longer even though they’ve never actually done anything, they’re just old scrubs.

“I’ve been around since 2000 and never won a tournament, pay attention to me!!!”

Yeah, that’s definitely more annoying on a fighting game site. Kinda like watchin Snow White and the Seven Dorks.

tell me about it, or that stupid words like vortex, what the fuck is a vortex, seriously

well, that its a word that it has been used that way too, long before srk

It’s something that the Street Fighter 4 players coined.

A vortex is supposedly a series of forced guessing games that occur after a knockdown that lead to damage and more knockdowns. The only characters who could truly force that kind of guessing game were Ibuki, El Fuerte, and Akuma.

Personally, I just prefer to call them mix-ups, but that’s just me.

well, i know what they mean, what i dont know, its why they needed to coin a new term for it, its just plain stupid
