j.A is good for long jumps, since you can wait to throw it out because it comes out in like 1 frame. So then your mixup is between a j.A that combos into his BnB or just defending any anti-air. j.A is great for everything, fast, super priority and easily combos into stuff from long jumps. I don’t use it for short jumps since you don’t have the choice of jumping in and just defending and you can just as well throw out j.C for better range and combo into super.
j.B is great for air-to-air but I don’t use it jumping in.
j.C is great. I tend to use it mostly when short jumping, throwing it out when you’re in mid-air, it puts the opponent in a block stun and you can repeat the procedure to push them into the corner (short jump -> j.C) or go to a mixup (bnb, command throw, jab into whatever) because I’m pretty sure you’ve got the advantage when jumping in with a well-timed j.C. As I said earlier, when you jump in with j.A from i big jump you can choose to just defend. And if that happens to often, that is your opponent tries to anti-air you, j.C is great to throw out earlier than a j.A because it will probably beat their anti-air (yes, it’s that good) and goes into a huge combo. Also, j.C from a short jump (or long jump), regardless of your timing, will lead into qcfx2+D super = a good thing. I usually land most of my supers midscreen this way.
j.D is a great poke, works for jumping in but j.C is better in every way, better angle, comes out faster (I think?).
In short:
j.A when doing a long jump in.
j.B for poking.
j.C when short-jumping and if your opponent let you use it from a long jump in. this is probably his best move when jumping in.
j.D for poking.

Very much looking forward to this. With news that KOFXII has been delayed in Europe and probably Australia, it’s great to hear this game will be hitting soon.
I’ve never had the pleasure to play this game before (very new to SNK games), but I’ve never heard a bad thing about it, and it looks great, will definitely buy it day one and start learning it. I might main Freeman, it looks like Iori has a similar style in KOFXII.
lol sweet, I’m planning on maining both butt and freeman so it looks like I will be in good company. Can’t wait till this shit drops, thanfully SNK will do something right after delaying KOF.
I really think that due to it’s upcoming release on xbla along with a resurgance of popularity ( dg’s devastation tourny had more entrants than a few of the main stage games) I think we should try and push for our own strategy subforum so we can have specific topics for chars, matchups, vids, etc instead of all of it in one huge topic. Just my thoughts
I’m definitely hyped to catch more interest in the game than I thought. I’ll probably cop the XBLA version if they decide to release it on a late night.
