"Get Ready...Survive!" The New Garou: Mark of the Wolves Thread

Thanks, BTW how’s the Garou forum at NeoEmpire? I haven’t posted in there in a looooooooooooooooong time XD.

OK something about Kevin’s QCF+LK, Break–>QCB+LP has been confusing me for so long a time; why does it sometimes not work? I know I should charge to Lvl. 2 for it to juggle at the corner for supers, but sometimes the QCB+LP just whiffs, is there some timing or something I should take into consideration?

^ Good stuff as always.

As soon as you break the :qcf: + :snkb: you do :qcb: + :snka: and charge for a bit then release. You do have to time it or else you’ll whiff or hit without enough charge to follow it up with a super.

Its been a bit active Im always trying to get people to play Garou and so far its been good

…and a fist look at Vol. 4!

Now to get back to revising for my test tomorrow (someone remind me how to calculate Goodwill again?)

Griffon/Tizoc! Now we’re talkin’. :bgrin: Didn’t know you could OTG his stand B after a Heracles Throw, plus those Icarus Crash links are ones I need to use a bit more oftenly.

Good stuff with the Freeman part too. Looking forward for the full vid!

Since I didn’t do any text yet, I will strongly, strongly recommend usually using his-
:hcf:+:snkb:–>:l::d::db:+:snka:
Since it’s guaranteed to hit 100% of the time.

BTW, his lariat move is called Poseidon Wave, Heracles Throw is the side switching throw

Sweet stuff Tizoc, showing some love to the Griffon!:wgrin: Gonna start up on MOTW now that it’s coming to XBLA.

Just a question: Does he play exactly like KOFXI? If not, what are some notable differences, besides LDM?

EDIT: Nice use of Megaman X music. One of my favorite bgms of the series.

Oops. Musta mixed up both, hehe.

Well for one thing, his Justice Hurricane in Garou is a 360 compared to the HCB motion in XI and he can’t combo into it. Same goes for both versions of his Big Fall Griffon, with a 720 motion instead of a double HCB (his LDM in XI is his P Power version of the move). His dropkick has more range in XI than it does in Garou, but both versions still do crazy guard damage. The only thing he misses in XI compared to Garou is his bear-hug style fwd + kick throw.

Great. Of course it’s going to have harder inputs in this game. (Thank god that my pad makes 360/720 motions easier)

Thanks for the tip.

Tizoc’s original Garou ver. varies greatly from his KoF ver.
For one think of him like SF2 Zangief; big risk, big reward (sort of, he kinda has a hard time getting damage in sometimes IMO).
I personally find playing a Poking game with Tizoc is a good way to play him, and if you properly pressure your opponent you can get some 360s in there.
A few quick notes-
a) his lariat can be avoided by crouching BUT it has a rather fast recovery that if your opponent tries to hit you as the move ends you can throw them with his C throw
b) You can Kara cancel just about any of Tizoc’s normals; e.g. do :d:+:snkd:, :db:, :l:+:k: and Tizoc will do the animation of his Crouching :snkd: but cancel it into his elbow drop
c) The range on his 360 is very small, but you should use his 360+:snka: since it has the most range
d) his :hcf:+:snkb: has a very short range as well and is slow to come out, but you know what options to use from the vid
e) His QCFx2+:snkb: has a SLOW-ASS start-up but the range on the first punch is wide (horizontally) and is an overhead, non-the-less you should use this move as scarcely as possible
f) His :dp:+:p: can be avoided by crouching but you can use it for mix-ups, and actually input his 720+P super during it’s last frames and your opponent can be grabbed with the super

^^I figured he was like 'Gief in SF2, regardless I find grapplers appealing to me. Even if they are usually not top tier. :wgrin:

Thanks for the help, now how about Terry?

The link I posted should direct to some Terry info, but off the top of my head, Terry’s good for offense and pressuring, if you know how to properly use his HP Power Charge and HP feints, then you can control the tide of the battle.
He can combo into his QCFx2+K from a Cr. B BTW.

Yeah, it did have some Terry stuff, my bad. You didn’t tell me Tizoc could do this though: :looney:

Oh I get what happened there-
Tizoc gets knocked down and does his A recovery roll (pressing A or C when knocked down has you roll forward, A is a shorter distance than C)
Tizoc quickly buffers in a Just Defend and cancels it into his 720

The points I wrote were off the Top of my head BTW. I myself can’t do JD and cancel it into his 720

It’s easy if you know something is going to hit you for sure. Just input the 720 as he rolls foward then press back to JD as you get up. Then press the :snka:/:snkc: button to GC into 720. The game stores motions so it makes it easier to do things like GC on wake up. Another thing to note on Tizoc’s :bdp: + :snka:/:snkc:, is that you can roll recover from both, so they can dodge the stand :snkb: or :d: :snkd: follow up hits from the ground. In KoFXI Tizoc can combo into all his command grabs and specials pretty much way easier. He’s also a lot faster in KoFXI than in MOTW.

Oh also forgot; Griffon/Tizoc loses the P.Power Daedalus Attack in XI compared to Garou.

But what Tizoc (the poster) posted is more helpful, so follow that.

Sorry Noc just fixed the motion for Tizoc’s lariat, but thanks for that info on the storing really helps:pray:

oh I typed the wrong smiley thing ha. I’ll fix it.

I really do hope that this game gets some serious attention on XBL though.

Anybody looking forward to playing this on XBLA as well?
