I’d play him in Garou but I’m not dumb to put money on it. I’ve been working on Guard Cancels a bit (buffering since my input speed isn’t good enough to do it on command) and I think I may have Jenet down other than Terry. I’m working on Butt but my DP breaks aren’t that consistent and I only get full mash on Ranbu super 2 out of 5 times.

I’m MM Giby at EVO in a FT3, I’ll use Tizoc for the fans for a round and then I’ll switch to Terry, I got my guard breaks down, Giby’s Grant is done, I’m going to make that guy pick Kevin but then I got Senor Gato ready just in case.
Butt’s breaks are just weird. They feel so clunky to me when compared to Terry’s.
I fully expect him to go with Grant for most every match we should do side bets to see who can get him to go to his main. If he switches to Kevin that’ll probably be a wrap though… If you kain Grant him well he plays everyone but Noc. is probably the best Kain in the US and Grant is Gibys alt so prepare to get flexed on. HOnestly I hope everyone just shows up to play this year last year EVO was disappointing to say the least. Everyone dodging like Mayweather is swingin on them. NCR I am not sure but I hope there is a good turnout… I wish I could make it but I have to work every damn day…really disappointed with that.

something is wrong with the timing of dp ab cancels on GGPO. lag and emulation issues make them way too hard.
I dont use all characters with dp ab cancels, mainly Terry. But while on MAME I reached a point where I can do dp D, AB, df df D and dp B, AB, df df D fairly consistently, GGPO uses a different timing, even on good connections. If I do the timing of MAME or Shmupmame on a GGPO match, it doesnt connect.
I practice also on Dreamcast but there game speed is faster and controls smoother too.
I wouldn’t recommend using the Dreamcast version for practice. It has missing frames so things will seem easier only because frames are missing. There are speed differences going from Mame to GGPO. Not to mention Emulation + USB ports + drivers + lag (rollbacks, teleporting, choppiness) can cause all sorts of complications with inputs. You also have to consider that sticks or pads can go bad so it’s always good to test your controllers or stick on a different setup. Your best bet is to stick with GGPO version even though the problems will be there but at least you’ll be adjusted to those things.
Edit: Also I’m about 60% right now for travelling to EVO. It just depends if I can get the days off from work and if I can save up some funds for the trip. If anyone wants to meet up with myself or Giby at EVO for some games just let us know on twitter.
thanks for the info. well I use the DC version mainly because I prefer the DC pad. I use an arcade stick for MAME. Stick works well, a Hori V3-SA and works without issues on MAME.
I dont think sticking to the GGPO finalburn will make such a great difference, since the issue is mainly with online synchro. Supercade is a little better regarding emulation issues, due to a newer fba version.
but a lot of GGPO players use a keyboard for the game, so faster inputs probably help to overcome the lag.
I rarely have issues with FBA GGPO online or offline. Inputs will drop online but that’s a given even on Supercade it happens.
