I went through about five characters last night (mind you I only play about 2 srsly) and didn’t see even one good color.

Masterful fucking color work, truly beyond comprehension. They look so incredibly flat and soulless compared to the original’s. Not to mention they’re just plain garish.
They should have just thrown $5 at alien nose job and had him do them. Would have been 100x superior.

Well actually what I was saying is that when you make the obviously shaded part of something just a darker hue than the not shaded part, it flattens it immensely. 3S has so many excellent examples of using color to create more depth. Look at Ibuki’s jab color for probably the best example I can tihnk of. her clothes are tan/brown but the shadows/dark parts are blue grey.
Basically it’s a general indication of ability. When you see an amateur do something its usually:
the darker areas are a color + black, the lighter areas are same color + white and the neutral areas are that color without anything added.
That makes shit look incredibly stale and flat. like these new colors. also the tones are just completely retarded.

actually sound comes into a big part of hit confirming for me too. now with all the rollback sounds, ive had to mute my tv sometimes just so it wont mess me up.

honestly i just buffer that shit for uoh dp’s lol . but i can confirm overhead super pretty well offline. We were goofing around that match shit got serious later on though lol. but ya you should hit up Everdred for some remy tips and matches.

Sounds awesome. I can never hear it too well due to other stuff going but when I can it helps. I think for some things it’s much easier looking at stuff, whether super meter or life, or the like reeling animation where they bend backwards vs hearing it. but stuff like short short confirms sound helps a lot definitely. obviously this is all subjective but I guess what i mean is being super focused on one or the other probably is worse than using both or mostly visual (since sound can be a mess with other people or things going on simultaneously).
are they loud enough that the sound gets all blown out and wonky? i love when stuff sounds like that. it must be jarring the first time you walk in if all the machines are being used.

Downloaded the costumes and they’re hit or miss like I thought. Some of them look pretty awful with the smooth filter like Ibuki’s MK dark green/yellow bands color. She just looks like a green mess unless you change up the filters and add scanlines. She randomly gets light blue underwear in that outfit though. LOL. The MP and 3 button ones I both like a lot since they’re very light colors and they don’t get destroyed by the filters. Ibuki’s standard/extra colors tend to be more contrasting so it’s good to see some nice in the middle colors for her. I really like the Psylocke HK color also.
Alex’s colors are pretty throw up except for like his MK bageish color which I like. The 3 button version is like a different variation of it that I like also. HK pink lemonade Alex is some Gay TV shit. Light blue bandanna, blonde hair, pink pants/overalls and grey timbs. LOL.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on) you definitely can’t get the colors to upload on saved/unsaved replays. Which means if you save a video while using the special colors there’s no coding to see them during replays at all. Not even before you upload them. Have to use capture card during the actual match to see colors. The CPU character in training mode can’t be outfitted with the new colors either (not that it really matters).
