Yeah stick to CRT, I just spent like 80 bucks just to get my Genesis Model One + Model One SEGA CD to run on VGA. Waaaaay too much hassle(I love playing this loose disk of Snatcher right now but it was not worth all this wasted time).
Oh yeah we’ve built a supergun and have one of those video encoders to output NTSC.
This a pretty unrelated but we have some interest in building our own versus cab from scratch. Two RGB monitors, basically mirror a versus city. I’ll mention it again if we go anywhere with it. That would be quite a project!
After I get some other shit and a new place, I think I’m gonna start saving up for a 3S cab.
Now that I graduated school and got my 6K bonus from work, I’ll probably get an arcade cab sometime next year :smokin:

the only problem with buying is how expensive shipping gets. I’ve been going around websites trying to figure out how much it would take to build versus how much it would take to just buy a versus city or new versus city outright. I’m waiting for a shipping cost quote from one place. if I can get it bought and shipped for under $1500 I’ll just buy a real cabinet.
I also need an ashtray. I don’t smoke but I think that’s part of the experience.

Depending on where you live, there may be some folks on craigslist selling. Saw a candy cab for sale out of Charlotte of all places a few years back. You never know. It’ll also be a lot cheaper than shipping. Unless the seller is a jerk.

hey can we make requests for slow motion stuff? Like, I have always wanted to see what an eye looks like when it moves in slow motion as it is batting. Maybe looking inside an ear would be cool too, see how it reacts to the whirr of the camera.
