:clapdos:
as for yun. when i was on point i remember beating them more in crane style… how fast is their DP?
can they punish the roll or does it push too far or something. i also remember the jab stuffing dive kicks a lot. idk. then again i got a lot of people in pure crane… til this day my favorite move from gen is his crane st.F.
shit is sooooooo funny. I just imagine some old man ripping someones balls off and then smacking the person under the jaw with them in one fluid motion… when i get REALLY old… im gonna do that to someone… awesome.
then people will be like. and ill be like :china:
Their DPs can all be safe jumped, no faster than 4f for EX.
AFAIK blocked roll cannot be punished because his crouching jab won’t reach.
EDIT- yeah this is supposed to be in response to Street twin DP
maybe thats why. i do remember trolling them with it. i wanna see people fighting almost 100% in crane a few matches. as i said i never see it and damn does it throw people off. Seems they are completely lost. Theres this movie called, “Perfect Weapon” with Jeff Speakman… idk if it was a good movie… probably not. but seeing it with my older brother when i was a kid in my mind makes me think it was awesome… probably a false memory. he has this ring. one side a tiger other side a dragon. Always whooped peoples ass with tiger style and it was faster and vicious and its what he preferred. but of course at the end when he had to fight the villain of the movie he had to switch to dragon style. awkward and unfamiliar but he won. Its kinda how i see it. you cant play someone the same in crane style if they actually are fast on reactions.
4-1 against Kindevu’s Makoto b4 he went to rest. I dropped combos due to plink failure so I changed my plans and started using cross-up Ogas in the end, which won me a match. Damn he is so good, he had a 20 win streak with 4 different ppl (myself included).
5-0 against Skatan’s Sakura
So anybody got tips on s.MK -> Finger Pokes?
Need to be more specific. Doing the inputs, or best way to utilize them?
The actual inputs. I’m having a difficult time pianoing the mash moves from s.MK
Point your finger, then use your knuckles to press st.mk, rotate your hand on st.mk as you quickly swipe your pointer finger across your punches. I suggest you start with mp (after you’ve hit st.mk ofcourse, or else you will get focus attack) and go M,L,L,M,Hpunch and recieve HP hands (3 frame startup, best hands to use)
Watching Xian at nwmajors and it made me realize he goes for jabs and shorts after jump ins. Ud get more dmg landing strong tc2 and get less dmg scaling when u fadc or super than when u do jump in c.short c.jab s.jab tc2 etc etc
I’m not Xian, but I realized that I do that as well, unless I’m landing an obvious j.HP. I’m usually very cautious when doing combos, and following up with a 4 framer feels safer than a 5 framer, especially after I do a crane j.MK. Mantis st.MP is not enough cuz the follow-up usually whiffs. They’re all in my subconciousness.
Cross Counter team with Xian winning NW major. That’s another great achievement for the Gen community. Congratulations Xian!
I like to mix it up. But when i jump and hit i always go for s.strong before tc2
same, by the way, sometimes the hitbox of the standing mp is weird… it gives me problems when I try to connect to it a the standing hp in combo against Ryu and Ken (don’t know if there’re others, maybe Sakura? I never tested it)
Thats only standing dude. Im taking about jump ins. Starting grounded combos with c.short is fine. Landing a jumpin and going into c.short is a waste and missing on dmg
Edit: their hit animations are weird when u do s.strong s.fierce without a jumpin. I stick to s.strong s.forward lk gekiro its way eaiser to hit on ryu.
I’m talking about cross-ups only tho, especially crane j.MK. Stance change glitch really bothers me here.
Ah. I’m talking about like Neutral Safe jumps and obvious jump ins that hit.
Press Forward + LP, then Strong, then Fierce, then Strong, then Fierce.
Wrong person.
good ol’ fellow Amiyu tweeted:
Gen is strong. I just don’t play him well / Since there is still so much to learn (about Gen) I felt extremely excited about it ^^
This is the proper attitude towards this game and especially technical characters like Gen…
