Thanks for the comments guys, I’ll do my best along with Giby, Toodles, Omerta, Kicks, etc. to have a new Garou thread with as much info as possible for new players to understand easy. I was also thinking about doing tutorial specific videos as well along with the write ups but that will probably take a while also. I’ll see what I can do for a start then we can work on it from there.

so what exactly is wrong with the PS2 version of Garou? I keep hearing about timing issues.

edit: i mean is the timing difference the arcade and PS2 significant?

PS2 version runs slightly faster than the MVS version so timings for things have to be done faster. Guard Cancel letters dont show up on the screen when you do a GC. Training mode on the PS2 version has a bunch of weird bugs in it. The only thing I like about the PS2 version is being able to do roullete in VS mode :bgrin:.

ah ok, the speed difference doesn’t sound too bad. I know about the weird training mode bugs, like the one where you put the dummy on “1-hit gaurd” then most combos wont connect.

I can’t pull out more than 5hit rush in this game, I’m trying to learn how to make feint cancels but it doesn’t work the char just makes a normal move but pressing f A+C doesn’t do anything

Garou MOTW is out for Xbox live (6/24/09), the netcode is pretty bad, GGPO is still better. Port is similar to PS2 version with the same exact training mode. The “Guard Cancel” letters now show up so it’s a fixed PS2 port. The Xbox 360 is the best port out now but PS2 version is still good for tournaments. To answer your question yes those matches were TAS. It was confirmed by not just me, Giby and a few others. It’s also coming from the Japanese players themselves.
