I’ll also start uploading the last ranbat they had along with this one as well, been uploading some of the latest solcal matches up. It’s all up now if anyone wants to check them out on my youtube account, take care.
Where do I go on the filebank site to have my name/password emailed to me? I have that info on my pc at home, but dont know it off hand for this computer.
I need some serious help with the Tizoc v Kevin match-up. The more I play against Instinct, Silence and other good Kevins, the more futile this match-up looks. Now, I know its not impossible to beat Kevin with the Griff, but good God almighty it sure as fuck seems that way. I can take out every character with Griff if I play my cards right, but it feels like no matter what I do, no matter how well I bait and how well I punish, reversal and Guard Cancel, Kevin can take me out with little effort. His fucking unpunishable, unbeatable lolzinvincibility s.A beats everything Griff has on the ground, save a max-distance standing b.
Any advice would be appreciated. Having to switch off to Kain every time someone chooses Kevin is getting mighty annoying.
f+A+C close D
Also watch those team videos from haraheri. There was a beastly tizok owning all sorts of characters.
You also might consider placing your TOP later than theirs or some time where you’ll have it when they don’t, then make your jabs count more, plus tizok’s stamina will allow him to stay there in TOP longer.
The best kevin advice I can give without knowing your opponent (i can’t recall having trouble with instinct and silence’s kevin’s so i didnt change my style much), is for one-much of the damage I get from Kevin is when I make a mistake, kevins i’ve played don’t seem to set up much or i don’t fall for it. Another thing is if they like to abuse jump D or jump A–lots of people will buffer a verticle jump while on the defense or block stun, then come down with a j.A or j.D. Here you can go for rdp+A or f+A+C closeD.
I also have a little saying i made up–most Kevin’s don’t block. Basically they’re rolling, crawling, dashing, or jumping and avoiding any unfavorable position, until they can go for standing A, jump A or D, or if they’re on the defense, bait a roll or c.A+B.
Probably obvious, but it’s pretty hard for tizok to turn the corner around into his favor, so stay out because kevin gets free damage.
I always (not necessarily anticipate) prepare for a roll from kevin. If you distance yourself correctly, you don’t have to change your tactics as much as you think, just stay outside a bit and use tizok’s range. On a reset or if you have him in the corner, stick to faster moves so you can catch him in the roll. Or if you really smell one coming, go for a vertical jump or back jump into j.HK c.LP qcf, qcf+HK.
Stay smart, stay out of the corner, build meter constantly, f+A+C can beat his stand A. Stick to tizok rule #1, keep them on the ground/make them regret jumping. Seriously practice GCL 360 (i know you can do this Omerta, you’re better at Guard Cancels than i am!).
As an extra favor… record (hold left shift+left cntrl as you/they click start) your next tizok vs kevin match so I can give you some better help.
Best Advice I can give you for this match up, Kicks pointed out a couple of good ones like using his f + A+C feint invicibility on him. Though Kevins stand far/close is very quick like most of the cast, just don’t abuse the f + A+C as much. Wait for openings if the Kevin player tends to do the same patterns JD some of his combo patterns. Typical things you will always see from Kevin players is stand close/far A/Ax2, qcf + B, into break (A+B), dash in, repeat. Some might also do like stand A, then command grab hcf + A/C, this itself is one of Kevins best tools for mixups. So your main thing to remember with Tizoc is to play defense with Kevin, most Kevins tend to be very aggresive players usually most of the time. Another thing is Kevins roll shouldn’t be abused also, because you can hit him out of it with a low attack. If the kevin player you play abuse the roll then wait for it and hit him out of it with a down + A/B. Also Tizocs d + A+B is very good since its one of the fastest d + A+B in the game next to Grants. Mainly because it hits twice unlike the others that hit 1 time only and come out slower.
If the Kevin players jump in a lot try dashing under them if you feel they are going to jump in with anything. You can also try doing a early jump in before them so you can poke with a jump A/B then go into his air command grab to catch them. Also another good thing to remember if the Kevin player is in P power always expect a wake up qcfx2 + D from them on wake up. Not saying all players do that but since the super is pretty fast and safe at times expect it anyways. Also on wake up stay a bit close just outside of throw range, incase they try like a command grab or regular throw on wake up. So your best bet is to bait it so you can JD his qcfX2 + D on wake up then punish him from it. Also remember about Kevins d + A+B since some Kevins tend to abuse it a lot as well. Especially when your jumping in on them or even on wake up as well, if your trying like a meaty jump in on him. Tizocs main pokes are his Stand A/B and d + A to keep them at bay or poke them out of specials/supers if timed right. Stand C also works as a decent poke but its pretty unsafe especially if you hit them close with it.
Well besides all this get down his GC with his hcf + B or 360 + A/C to make them think twice about getting close at you. Hope this helps you out, take care.
Not THAT helpful, but anything may come in handy… Sweeps beat out kevin’s qcfqcf+D. I know positively with some distance, but maybe even up close as well. Though tizok’s hitboxes may be too big.
Eh…since his qcfx2+D is pretty much instant, you’d have to hope to time your sweep just as it’s going to hit (which is hard since Tizoc’s sweep is slow). So, this isn’t really reliable. If you don’t want to get hit by his qcfx2+D, don’t jump in when he has meter, or do obvious things that can be countered on reaction (jumping elbow drops, clotheslines).
Click on the haraheri link above (Noc’s post), enter password and login code (the one displayed), then go to season one, which is the top folder.
In that folder, you want the 2on2 folder.
Omerta you can try using other characters like TERRY. I remember that you can use him very well and by the way tizoc vs kevin its a mad bad match up. Last time we play was a 3 way wasnt it? and shikamaru was giving you a headache with his kevin. My advice is try to watch the way certain kevin users play, you wont beat them at first sight especially when it comes to expert kevins that abuse of c.A+B, standing A qcf B(break all day) I know its hard as hell to beat that but if I did it then you can do it too. Next time watch the way I play against him so you wont have that much problems facing him if a tourney comes up.
LITTLE HELP FOR YA: (kevins) c.A+B can be just defended. Remember a lot of kevins out there abuse of this move a lot cause it gives them a lot of advatange and its also a set up combo. If they are doing it deep you can JD by pressing down back in the air so when they do it you hit the ground with an auto JD and then you know what to do after that (GC). I know you are terrible good when it comes to guard cancels so I dont really need to tell you that. I hope this help you man.
Yes its possible, but you have to know the timing. BTW if you get locked down with dash-in A -> qcf+B (brake) x N in the corner its almost impossible to get out of it. You will probably will end up getting your guard break and then you know what’s going to happen after that.
Hey Tea can you talk to nagata about a tourney because is boring playing with the same ppl all the time and also since you are the champ some has to beat you dont you think? I havent seen nagata in a long time. Last night fernan saw him and they were playing. Fernan is such a jerk he should have told me that nagata was in there so I could talk to him about the next online garou tourney. Fernan you #$$^^$@!
Well I dont really like to use oversize characters because they tend to be to difficult to master and on top of that they tend to take too much crazy combos that a regular character will never take.
Hello there, this is a very nice thread about my favorite 2D fighting game and every mainstay people here built it strong and thick, though i didn’t get through the 47 pages, because I already know a bunch of things about the game with our french garou forum community (some of you already know it, http://www.garou-motw.free-bb.com ), and also because i dont have courage to read it all for now ^^.
I’m posting here to ask if someone knows the tip to combo with Freeman a:
far stand A, Spower A
as seen in many japanese videos. We tried to figure out the trick but nothin came up yet. So if anyone has the solution
By the way, it is an invitation to come and have a fightey on Kaillera European Servers, though time and distance won’t make things easy
There must be only 20/30 regular Garou player around there, and only ~10 that have good to very good level, but the point is to have fun afterall
I personnally roam on emuline server 88.191.26.172 and my nick is Suddenly, he.
See you some time.
Damn Timmy, that is rough. I havent pulled it off yet. Are you sure it wasn’t from a counter hit far stand A? You can do far stand A, and link the A super on reaction if you see the ‘counter hit’ message.
But, I just wanted to post something I did find with Freeman when trying to do it. Tested against Terry. At point blank range, a singe hit from a weak (A or B) attack sets up his crossup C perfectly, standing or crouching, hit or block. Just hold up/forward during the animation so it jumps ASAP, and depending on when you hit C in the air, it will either crossup, or whiff (and land in perfect range for a throw)
If you do a single hit from a strong attack (C or D), it sets up an ambiguous cross up C. Depending on when you hit the button, it will hit either front, behind, or whiff (again, perfect range for a throw). Since feinting doesn’t affect the knockback, you can feint the move and be jumping sooner. For close D, you have to feint so it only hits once.
