Not defending or bashing anyone here, but people that paid their hard earned money have a right to ask questions. Last time I checked, this isn’t China and questions about purchases should be answered. People ordered from him last week because he stated that he would receive parts in by the next week and would ship them out. Nareg set up EXPECTATIONS, and they were not met. Well, it is already the next week and then some. Buyers have a right to ask questions.
I’m sure many took the info that nareg posted last week and that influenced them to purchase the parts from him. I’m also sure that if many of his buyers knew that he was not able to get parts in in the time he said he would, then they would not have purchased.
Also, I asked a simple question a few posts up and it was never responded to. I just need a straight answer. It is a simple yes or no answer. So, if I may, here is the question again. Nareg, you said that you would be getting in the JLF stuff on Sat and would be shipping out the items Monday. Do you mean all the stuff associated with the JLF stick like mounting plates and octogates too?

My MadCatz SE arcade stick recently stopped responding to left commands on the joystick, so as I understand it they can be swapped out to the Sanwa parts. My question is if I buy the Sanwa JLF stick, will I need anything else to use it or will it use the same mounting plate and harness that is already in my stick?

You dont need a wire harness or even a mounting plate, all you need is the Jlf. Im in the same predicament as you, except my Mad catz stopped working 39 days ago, and i still havent been able to get one fucking Jlf!..Ugh.
Well, you don’t need a JLF mounting plate, but unless you have access to some unique screws the madcatz plate doesn’t work with a JLF.
I am using my madcatz plate with a JLF, but I had to shorten some store bought screws to make it work without scratching the pcb.
I wish you carried 24mm Sanwa Screwins… I mean, I guess I can deal with Seimetsus, but it’s still a bummer.
For mock-up purposes, I just used 2 drywall screws to attach a JLF to a cardboard box and it’s quite sturdy. I can only imagine how sturdy this will be after mounting it to wood/plexi with bolts and screws!
So yeah, mounting plate might not be so necessary if you really can’t spare the $5 or don’t wanna fuck around with the routing, my case being the latter.
Don’t worry, he’ll answer your question, just give him some time. A day or so isn’t a long time to wait, just remember he’s got a LOT of orders to fill and start shipping out today and he’s one person.
There’s a good chance that he’s not going to be getting back to people today or tomorrow while he gets people their stuff. That’s a good thing, just be patient.
You’re right, you deserve your questions answered and to be treated respectfully, just make sure you don’t confuse the attitude you’re getting from other people on this thread with the attitude of the person who is actually dealing with you.
He’s always been faithful to the people’s he’s dealt with on these forums, and now due to events that are out of his control he’s behind a little on his original ETA for some parts.
Just remember guys, he’s given updates on everything within the last 48 hours. He’s not going to let you go for days on end without at least coming on this thread and letting you know where everything is at, and what he’s facing.
You are in the exact same situation as hundreds of other people are during this SFIV rush, and considering the circumstances and the amount of orders he’s got he’s still doing a good job and keeping us informed.
Yeah, but the guy is asking about a Madcatz SE stick. He’s got to use a mounting plate to get it into the welded mounting spot on that stick.
He can’t just throw drywall screws into the case.
hmm, I appreciate the answers guys. I’m really not wanting to get into rewiring the thing or messing with the PCB too much. I was hoping for a simple fix. If I do get the mounting plate will it be pretty strait forward to swap parts out then? I don’t mind paying the money for a plate I’m just not sure what I will need.
Haha, I must have watched too much Red Green Show as a kid; I believe that drywall screws and duct tape will fix anything.
You don’t have to mess with any wiring or pcb either way.
But if you’re popping a new stick into the SE, you want to get a mounting plate with your stick.
All you have to do is unscrew 4 screws, and screw the new stick in (and plug in the wiring harness that’s already on your stick)
lol, once I needed to test a stick in a case and didn’t have a plate or extra screws. I just taped it like hell with duct tape and was able to use it for like two days before it fell off. It was pretty ghetto.
I did the se mod w/ a jlf and obsf’s from nareg. You don’t need a harness because it’s already in their attached to the ko jlf in the se. I do suggest that you order a mounting plate because the screws that attach the ko jlf to the se mounting plate are cheap and will strip very easily. You can get some screws at home depot if nareg doesn’t sell them with the plate. Hope this helps…

it’s ok nareg! i still support local businesses!! as long as i get my stick sometime before summer starts, i’ll be cool! but don’t take advantage of that. 
besides, the only reason i’m switchin my madcatz se stick with a jlf is because intuition is telling me to. my stock is working fine.
