so I went to pax and played super, decided to write up my thoughts
super street fighter 4 notes
I had the opportunity to watch, talk and play super street fighter 4 over the
weekend at pax. All of these notes are strictly my opinions. None of this
are official notes, merely speculation through me watching, playing or
talking to justin wong, seb or seth killian. That being said heres what I
could come up with and see.

youtube channel, go check them out!)
General: Game speed feels exactly the same. PLayed on xbox 360
on 50 inch monitors which were a little laggy but relatively playable.
Hands and kick inputs still 5
Focus attack engine looked the same as well.
Characters: I did not have a chance to play or see everyone sorry 
Guy: Solid, focus attack hit box does not move his character at all.
the ex air throw is similar to air throw, except exceptional damage
as well as much higher priority.
Juri: in a sense similar to chuns wake up ex bird kick, wake up ex spin wheel
seems like a very good wake up option. Ultra 2 was tested but couldn’t find
anything broken yet with it.
T Hawk: Nothing new really that we havent seen, condor seems really good
and dmg is just as scary as gief.
Hakkon: IMO terrible. Idont know he looks hilarious but his movement reminds
me alot like hugo in 3s. once you get a normal throw into oil, unless you ex I
found you could just run away all day. oil into slide range is scary but seeable and
punishable. one nice thing is it doesn’t seem you can wake up back dash to avoid
command throws, he does the throw that launches himself at you that can punish it.
Adon: Did not see character played, but neither justin or marn would touch him.
I guess he doesn’t seem that good.
MAKoto, dudley and ibuki seem extremely solid. all 3 mix up games are scary good.
most people say dudley may be top, while i was watching ibuki seemed to be the
scariest.
not much specific notes that havent been posted.
Makoto: popular set up is any normal into hayate (fp into hayate is stricter timing
then 3s, apparently more difficult). FADC dash up command throw into ultra 1.
COMMAND THROW into ultra 1 is not hard at all. not like fei long, you literally
mash it out.
Deejay: only a few new notes. seems really good. SLide is still db kick, so you can
still keep charge. Ex fireball can juggle in the air (similar to dhalsims exfireball) only
much faster. His most interesting move was his ex down to up kick move. SImilar to
ex snake strike, its an AA that has REALLY high priority. The dmg isny anything special
but deejay goes straight up, so even if you jump and deejay does it late, where the
opponent is exactly on top it still hits. Also if one kick hits all kicks hit, sucks you in
similar to rufus ultra mechanic.
Sorry no Cody updates
word was he possibly the best alpha character not I
didnt see him get played :(.
SF4 chars:
NOTE: Being a dhalsim player, im going to write a small separate opinion on him
Chun: seems the exact same cept new ultra. ultra is nice for being able to fully hit off
almost anything in the game, but the dmg sucks so probably character specific which
ultra you use.
Ken: DId not see him played, but was told 2 things (confirmed by seb).
- Fp SRK has more invincibility frames.
- lf is hit confirmable into fp fireball FADC dash up ultra 2. Never saw it hit but was
confirmed to me.
El Fuerte: Big improvements, only 2 but they seem great.
1: srk kicks and EX (the anti air throw) Got a good dmg boost, around SPD dmg.
2. Ultra 2 has properties of a throw and slide, distance of around 1/3 screen.
(think Dans ultra 1). The best part is supposedly its 3 frame start up, after testing it
seemed true. Good dmg too
Bison: Normals got a dmg nerf by a lil across the board. Psycho Crusher normal and
Ex got massively better. Seemed like all the purple surrounding bison is the hit box
(including behind) and the priority much better.
Ultra 2 seems really solid. GOod dmg, also a QCF motion that beats fireballs. The
animation start up is a head stomp, however if he lands and you try to back dash it
shocks the ground (like vipers sizmo) and can still hit,
Honda: Not much changed, but ultra 2 looks terrible. Didnt test but seems like you
can jump out of it on reaction to the black screen start up.
Sagat: looks over nerfed. fireballs same dmg but uppers all do 100. I guess srk
FADC into U1 DOES NOT work but SRK FADC toward r.h into u1 does??? not
confirmed, not sure how that works
nothing really new that i saw but IMO may have been a lil over board.
