If you mean Dan’s GU then no. That was closed down due to economical reasons I believe. You’d have to ask him for the whole story. The fight night this Friday is taking place at a Play N Trade in Walpole I believe. You can check one of Pestazoid’s posts in the last page or two for for more details. As far as I know it’s kind of our new home since GU closed so we should try and keep the MA scene alive even with the loss of GU!

Im working on a possible spot for right now in Somerville at Pandemonium books and games.

the problem is they already get a ton of business from MTG and board games and shit so they dont know if they wanna host this type of thing. and also scheduling is hard because they dont wanna disturb the Magic people.

however if i can get it, they have a very spacious downstairs and stay open until midnight every night, they’re right on the red line, and it’d be a suitable place for tournaments. I’ve easily seen 60+ people in there at once.

if i could get something like this going would anyone be able to bring setups each week? I’d only be able to manage 2 and one would be sf4 pc on shit settings

i could try bringing my pc if I ever go up with anyone from springfield. (it’s just about built i only need the CPU and that’s it)

it’s a very good pc to, will most definitely be able to run sf4 at 60 fps. only problem would be an internet connection? i bought sf4 through steam I don’t know if i’d be able to run it in offline mode never tried…

Your Move Games would be a terrible spot for fight nights. Unless Tyler has made some huge renovations since he took over, the downstairs area is cramped and poorly ventilated and those MtG nerds smell like ass. Plus its already crowded all the time, and I don’t think the general crowd there would get along to well with a lot of FG players.

If you’re talking about the main Pandemonium location in Central Square, that space is at least pretty open and spacious and doesn’t stink the way Your Move Games does, but I still don’t think it’s really a good spot for fighters.

Just got back from the Play N Trade fight night in Walpole. Great games to all I played and thanks to Alex and Eugene and that other fellow there (sorry pal I didn’t catch your name.) for running things. Not a huge crowd yet but with some time I think it’ll have a decent crowd. And they had tables and chairs and EVERYTHING! Wave I don’t know what the hell you were talking about. This is a very nice place to play, and quite frankly the only one I know running fight nights right now as far as I know in the general MA area. The staff were all nice, had things set up moments after I got there. Yeah more people didn’t show up for a while and yeah I ended up playing Alex’s Chun (whooped my ass too lol) and Gene’s Guile for a good portion of the time. But ya know what I did? Took a break, shot the shit with them and hung out for a while and waited for more people to show. And guess what, more people showed and a good time was had by all. So next time, before you go off half cocked about something like this again, THINK about how the situation really was and what really took place before you decide to start twisting the truth. If I were you, the only reason I wouldn’t set foot in that store again would be out of pure shame.

IIRC you can take the Franklin commuter rail line from south station to Norwood Central. from there a cab is cheap money
