If we stick to only 2D fighters is there a chance that only SRK people will show up? That seems undesirable, seeing as how only 40 people have voted on this thread.
I’ll play regardless of how many people show up, but it seems like everyone wants this to be a big deal. If this assumption is true, then I think it might be better to get people from outside the SRK community, i.e. hosting ssbm.

No. We don’t have enough fans of SSBM at SRK and anyone not from SRK would get fucking OBLITERATED at any other fighting game. You know it’s true. Hell, I’d probably place top 3 in the SSBM tourney and I don’t play it at a very high level or anything.

I actually didn’t expect forty people to vote in this poll, I think that says a lot in itself considering how many people in the NW play 2d fighters.

Okay, Evolution, is big, Evolution has sponsors. This regional/major isn’t on that grand of a scale and even if we add Smash it won’t be. Subtracting SSBM at this point isn’t really that big a deal especially since it seems like only three people are talking about it. I’ll put you down as +1 for Smash though. The one thing that it seems like people are agreeing on, is the fact that we should keep it at four or five games. I think the games that are winning now in the poll, are winning for a reason, and I don’t think that any of them should be overruled by a game whose scene doesn’t know/care we exist.

I see where you’re coming from but I agree with Deezo. The extra stress, manpower, and effort it’ll take to run SSBM on top of the games most SRKers want to play won’t be worth the extra people, if you ask me.
