Games Only You Have Played

Pulseman!

I’m pretty sure I’m the only one that liked this puzzle game called Ballistic… you shoot a colored marble at a swirl of other marbles, trying to delete color groups and cause chain combos. Fun and challenging.

I know I’m the only one that liked Planet Harriers… Space Harrier purists didn’t like the Japan-wacky characters even though it did Space Harrier justice gameplay-wise.

Has anyone played Ollie King besides me? Shit was hot.

Also, Genesis obscurity:

Dahna
Devil Hunter Yoko
Grindstormer
Eliminate Down

They all pretty much suck.

oh man Planet Harrier! I remember that, that was in the arcade wasnt it?
I was on a trip and we went to the Mall of America, I got beat down in Virtua Fighter 4 and played some Planet Harriers. at leas thats what I think it was called. I was a nurse with a giant needle and flew around and shit

MICK AND MACK!! Damn man, that brings back memories. I owned that game and I used to challenge my friend to speed runs haha.

I loved that game!! I remember one stage that was epileptic seizure inducing with pulsing blue and red lights!

snes clock tower: the first fear. So much better than the 2nd clock tower(ps1)

Golden Axe 3 for arcade not gensis

and a year and a half later, I own it

I’m not sure if many other people have played Threads of Fate or Legaia 2: Duel Saga

As of recently:

Ion Assault, on Live Arcade. There’s probably like 8 other people in the country that have even heard of it.

There’s also Beat Hazard on the Indie Games section. It’s a dual-stick shootemup that works with your music, so custom soundtrack is an important part of why this game is awesome. Each track is a “stage”, so if you play to something like Mona Lisa Overdrive from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack; you’re looking at a stage that is 8 or 9 minutes of pure chaos, which can be rough…a lot of the game is affected by whatever is going on in the music(or whatever) track you have playing. Powerups increase volume of the music which in turn increases the power of your shots. This is such a brilliant little game that would’ve had more attention if it was on Live Arcade instead with slightly more enemy variety.

Of course, barely anyone has heard of it since (1) I love it, and I truly am a jinx for everything in this world, and (2) Barely anyone pays attention to the Indie Games section in the first place. Please look it up and at least check it out.

Example:

there was a game on ps1 that was created by a user with that white ps1 (the console u can make games with) it was a 3D top down RPG the demo came out on the playstation magazine demo disc, cant remember the name of the game unfortunately

I played ToF, and I played Legaia 1 and 2. Both are great games.

Quantum Redshift (XBOX) - Awesome future racer made by many of the blokes that did Wipeout XL. Sadly never sold well enough to justify a sequel in Microsoft’s eyes, so any potential the series had of being the Xbox’s answer to F-Zero and Wipeout was gone.

yeah new installments to popular mainstream rpg series on wildly popular platforms, I’m sure no one has played those

Future Cop: LAPD

2 player co-op and deathmatch

Tempest

Interesting game to say the least, I had no idea what was going on in it. A friend who owned a warehouse full of old arcades that he restored had a Tempest machine. I think you just get a fire button and some dial to turn while you shift around a geometric grid. He kept yelling “You gotta stay alive, you’re almost about to warp drive to the next level!!”. The machine was a pure late 70’s early 80’s classic arcade machine. As simplistic as it looks he was telling me certain circuit boards for those restoring their own Tempest machines are in the thousands and that’s not even for a working board!

beat all those games, Vandal Hearts, Jade cocoon, thousand arms, lunar, and Xenogears are a lot harder to find

Help me out on this one…

Back in the DOS 5.0/6.22 days, I played this shareware game where you were a light blue balloon, and you would float around to get items and air. One of the more interesting parts of the game was the author’s storyline; he claimed that aliens actually programmed the game, along with its mysterious alphabet or something like that. He woke up and found the program on his computer. What was the name of that game??? I really want to beat the game now. This was back in the early/mid 90s.

Theads of Fate doesn’t have a sequel or wasn’t a sequel to anything. Legaia 2 didn’t have a sequel either.

Legaia 2 was a alright game, not as good as legend of legaia

Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Always called it Romance for short and my friends would think I’m gay or something when I ask them if they’ve ever played Romance. lol.
