You’d think a former Capcom employee would have learned from Capcom. He saw the DmC debacle. On the other hand, he is a Westaboo, so whatever. Anyway, you’d think the one person who wants to keep Mega Man fans happy would be concerned when they get pissed off. He saw how mad they got about Mega Man Legends being canceled. These people are already rabid and pissed off, and you want to piss them off more? Inafune needs to make a decision here.

If they don’t, then I feel really bad for Mega Man fans because this will be yet another canceled game they will miss out on because of bad management.

Need to start accepting Mega Man for all intent is dead, btw whats the relationship with this Dina bitch and Inafune? They fucking?

What makes you think they already haven’t? There been a few articles written by these “journalists” shaming DMC fans when DmC bombed.

At this point, this chick is just downright dumb as hell. This is like cutting off your main source of income because you’re trying to make a point. (and doing it horribly)

and not only is it all over Twitta, this shit is word of mouth. But it baffles the fuck out of me that the people actually working on the game aren’t paying attention. or at least hella tight lipped on it. What are they afraid of?

Think about what #gamergate is about. Nearly every gaming media outlet is corrupted by these SJWs. If they don’t pander, then they don’t get coverage. Think about this for a second. If they fire a “feminist” they will get horrible coverage and be outright called misogynists for not supporting “progression” and it could tank sales because of media libel.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the reason the whole Dina fiasco was there in the second place (besides having a boyfriend she’s screwing working there) was to pander to this media. This was back when they were strong, and weren’t on the verge of collapse.

If #gamergate fails, then they can’t fire Dina because then they’ll be labeled one of us and every outlet will libel the. If #gamergate succeeds, then they lose sales because they won’t fire Dina. Just think about the repercussions firing Dina will have. Every outlet will be up in arms, and Comcept will tank. You thought the support of Zoe was bad? Just wait until Dina.

Still, if they’re unwilling to make this move now when the gaming press is at its weakest it’s ever been at, then they’ll lose the support of gamers.

Regardless, Comcept loses. If they fire Dina, we win. If not, they still lose. What do they do?

^ Even though I wrote the catch 22 up there, I still think they should take a chance and fire Dina. They could win back the majority of gamers who no longer support the media and they should still be able to cover sales. If they publicly apologize and give back access to backers regardless of politics, then that would be a step in the right direction and obviously we should have their backs then, regardless of whatever libel the media decides to portray afterwards.

Feminism isnt exactly progression though

Obviously and that isn’t at all what I wrote.

But who REALLY follows reviews that much these days? I don’t let them sway my vote on games. It’s nice to see what people think (although biased or not.) but that’s why you take reviews with a grain of salt. Because you can’t rely on someone’s opinion that isn’t yours to test the waters.

Though in this case, I don’t see a catch 22 in Comcept’s side. They’re still a fairly new company and they already have fans. But the problem is their fans don’t like Dina and that’s been from day 1. Way before gamer gate was a thing. The day she was outed as a fraud.

MN9 may be a hit/miss for some, I WILL say at least give Azure striker Gunvolt a try. At least Dina isn’t frauding that up.

It’s not about the bitch. Its about comcept not stepping in and backing its backers. The voice to the community from comcept, banned somebody who contributed on the merit of opinion, and no rule violations.

No I agree. Considering this game is supposed to be “for the fans” yet someone who’s put out well over a measly 15 bucks gets treated like some shitty customer in retail. You can’t be oblivious to this for too long or else it will really mess up your reputation.

Plenty of people form opinions on what they believe is going on in the gaming industry. Just as we’re doing with the information provided to us, there are those who are led to believe that the information they have in front of them is the truth and that could easily cause misconceptions to fit an agenda. We’ve already seen it with Zoe Quinn, they spun her crap to fit an agenda and paint all of us as rapists who need to sign pledges that we will not go out raging rape mode on girls while walking the streets.

Dina could easily, EASILY be the next Zoe Quinn here. Just imagine this headline “Comcept, the company started by Inafune, run rampant by misogynists” and the body “Today Comcept has fired Dina Kaman, a volunteer turned Comcept employee because of misogynist rage aimed at the company for hiring a harmless woman who only wanted to make games and help the company reach the masses, including girl gamers like herself. Inafune couldn’t be reached for questioning, but we suspect due to his Japanese heritage of keeping woman submissive as his reasoning for bending to the will of male induced rage mails. #anti-gamergate

Multiply that by 10 other sites all reporting the same thing.

Think about how this has already happened to a degree. Did we not see a game developer turned game journalist break down on youtube over the situation? Did we not see Jason Miller lose his job?

Do you not think this could happen?

Sure, we may not buy it this time, but all the people who have been blinded will, and they will tell friends who will tell friends, just as we do the same to spread truth and fact.

And yes, this has been an issue for a while, but you know how this will be handled by the media. This is definitely a catch 22 for Comcept. Regardless, they are not getting my money because I will not support their behavior and they have yet to make a public apology. As you noted, they are still new and starting up, our boycott will hurt them for sure. The media could hurt them, yet that is not guaranteed as their grasp of power is failing.

Dude these people aren’t just reviewers anymore, Anita Sarkeesian spoke at Game Developers Conference 2013 and 2014, she is a consultant for Mirror’s Edge 2

When it comes to game reviews, it is all about the byline. Sites that don’t take this to heart have to make click-bait articles just to stay alive. Why should I care about your opinion if I don’t know who you are? This is why YouTube personalities have risen above the cadre of “journalists” - because, hate them or love them, they have personalities.

Ah yea I actually forgot most of the big titles I don’t really follow anymore and it seems like most of these people stick their head in those the most. (I assume these are the same people complaining about no female model in the new Ass creed game? While I think it’s pretty silly there are no female models, stuff like that doesn’t take THAT much to put in the game.)

I don’t have anything against this at all. I may not like most people who do these, but I can at least know they played it to some extent to form a real opinion rather than just reviewing it because my boss said so. On top of that, there’s enough people doing it that you can get a better idea of what to do.

Regardless gaming news sites aren’t about reviews anymore. Sure coverage of the game during launch as a review is important for them, but there is a ton of crap that leads up to that. Interviews, hands on demoing, trade shows, and so forth. Having any one of these outlets skew that based on an agenda is death for a game, because they will shit on it right up until launch and then knock it with a mediocre to bad review just because.

Remember Kotaku and Dragon’s Crown? Nothing but bashing the game left and right and bashing George Kamitani. Do you think that’s good press for a game that isn’t released yet? Fuck no. Skew a mob’s opinion the right way and a game could be dead in the water. Thankfully, plenty of people love DC for what it is, a simple side scrolling beat em up thrown to the hey day of D&D arcade. It never set out to make a statement, but their agenda skewed that and I’m sure there are still people out there who refuse to buy the game because of the Sorceress.

Comcept could play it off as bad PR.

This individual was taunting the fans which contributed, and was banning them even though there was no rules being broke. It is Japan, and IIRC, Japanese developers do not give a shit about making a statement, picking sides, or what the press says. However, their lack of action could be the result of them not really giving a fuck.

But it’s the media, everything is rape culture patriarchal instution that wants to subvert women.

Anita being a “consultant” for a big company, puts gaming itself in a position where the medium can be forever hijacked by idiots to push and indoctrinate people into their line of thinking. That’s the first step in making trends, that others use to push an agenda “for change”.

Just the fact (actually, was it verified that she was consulting for real?) that Anita was being consulted is a terrifying idea. These people are no longer bloggers but culture shape shifters. How did they ever get this much power? How did bloggers who covered games and reposted NeoGAF shit ever get this big? Fuck that!

Game developers should be able to have their artistic integrity, and not have to bow to some skewed bullshit political correctness. Just one of the AAA companies doing consulting is a major step back. Actually, this is EA right? The same idiots who wanted us to pledge we won’t rape people? Figures! Fuck EA, boycott them!

That requires me to read Kotaku which…I don’t do any of because of their shitty rep and “coverage”.

Though yea to be fair, DC already had a huge following considering how long the game has been talked about and how long it took to drop. On top of that it’s hard to even hate on Vanillaware’s style of art. (already getting loads of love from Odin’s Sphere, Muramasa, Grimroire, and I believe one more game that slips my mind.)

But that’s how I see most of these now. If you weren’t already following the game from the get go or before some newsite covered it, chances are you won’t let them swade your opinion on how you feel about it. It’ll turn away a few possibly get a few interested, but this whole thing is supposed to be about actual gaming folks to begin with.

FUCK THOSE PEOPLE.

They weren’t really interested in the game to begin with, then, and they will not be missed. This is where Kickstarter/Twitter/word of fucking mouth/making a good ass game come in… Quality sells itself.

The sooner people stop being afraid of “offending” someone, the sooner this shit can get back to being about ***FUCKING VIDEO GAMES AND THE ONLY QUESTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ASKED:

“IS IT GOOD AND IS IT FUN?”***
