anyone know if theres confirmation of being able to play ranked in co-op with two guys on the same team on different consoles?
i imagine playing ranked from the same account with 2 players locally will be possible. but to have potential 4 different consoles connected to one match i thought might be a bit tough and might not be in the game, (at least in ranked.)
want to know because i woudl onyl force my bro to get it on top of me getting it, if we could play ranked co-op together online.
In the comment’s section of Desk’s blog (SFxT solo combo vid) he says that chains give less frame advantage than links. He says he couldn’t do with Ryu: cr.lp xx cr.mp, cr.mp. Disappointing.
Actually, to answer your first question… I believe that charging supers are indeed nerfed versions of the super. I have seen Ruy’s super only do 3 hits (and I believe the super is supposed to do 5) over and over again. When I was watching WNF and they were doing the Scramble mode tourney, Killer Kai and Claky D were using that strat of charge super with Ryu and rush down with rolento… Those supers were nerfed every time they hit. There were even times when one ruy would charge to super and the other ryu would just do super by using bar… The one using the bar ate the other… So yeah I am to assume they are never going to be the full version of the super (hits and damage, the animation may still be the same but hits and damage are nerfed for sure)
For your second question, it seems like only certain people have that ability. In the beginning it was supposed to be that all of the cast can chain air normal’s like in VS/Darkstalkers, but I have only seen Chun do it, and I have only seen them talk about Bob being able to do it. I have never seen Bob do it, but they did say on the team Tekken stream that he could… I will be testing that out for sure…
assuming universal launcher is a normal that comes along with mid and lower body invincibility, and normals can be kara cancelled, can you kara UL into a special to give it invincibility startup frames in addition to forward momemtum? the return of roll cancel?
It isn’t really a “normal” though, it’s activated by two buttons. I imagine you can’t do that for similar reasons you can’t kara out of a focus attack to give your move armor frames. Worth testing, I guess, but I’d be really surprised if it worked.
Do you remember when/where in the stream he said this? Did they test it on the stream?
It would be interesting if that’s true, partially because it would be a concrete change from the previous build. I looked through some videos from the gamesradar build (which didn’t have Jin) and there were examples where people could roll out of facedown KD.
i noticed it while watching some sfxtk matches, like the top player challenge against combofiend… i noticed that everytime they used a launcher the character that comes in doesnt have any recoverable health… so launchers should not be abused when your partner has alot or some recoverable health
If that is true HeartDestroyer, that’s valuable information, and it’s weird that noone has caught on to this if it is indeed true. I randomly dropped by the Guile thread just now, and read something that is also valuable information if it is true:
"Everyone’s saying that alpha counter is f+fierce+rh. This isn’t true. All you have to do is fierce+rh. You can just mash the buttons and get alpha counter really easy. I found this out when trying to do a launcher to Rufus’s sweep ender on the EX messiah kick. I eventually just tried to mash launcher and was getting alpha counter every time. "
If you can hold backwards/down back and press FP+RH to get alpha counter in the final build, that makes the mechanism much easier to use.
It’s EX messiah kick, so of course you can mash it since it hits multiple times in quick succession.
Gray life going away when tagged in is nothing new. That’s been visible in videos for some time and it’s been mentioned by commentators as well in the sense of “maybe it’s not a good idea for these guys to waste meter on switch cancel combos when their partner is recovering.”
You seem to be missing the point from my post though. It wasn’t the mashing part that was the news to the alpha counter per se, but rather that you can activate it without pressing forward. You can hold back/down back and mash alpha counter, and you don’t need to be tapping forward while you are doing it.
As for the the loss of life when tagging in a recovering character, I guess it might be well known, but I sure missed it. I also looked at some matches, and it’s not only when using the launcher, it is just the fact that you are tagging in a recovering character in general.
Edit: New info about the alpha counter: It seems like the ability to do alpha counter while not holding forward is not something all characters can do. It might just be Guile. Stay tuned.
Two hypotheses:
1: All charge characters can use alpha counters this way
2: It’s a glitch with Guile
