But before we do that, I think we should try to train some of our weaker members of WSMS. Get them with a decent main, and let them have a comfortable grasp around their character.

Just get a large monitor with speakers. No reason to pay for a TV turner in your display if it’s never going to be used.
I’m just saying that I doubt that I’ll have any money on me to buy into a tourney. I also have to say I’m really against money matches as it basically tells newcomers that they have to pay money in order to play (and probably get beat).
Nobody really tries to hustle MMs from noobs – people MM who are at similar skill levels. It’s not like you can force some new player to take an MM
And btw these were all designed as arcade games, where you had to pay money in order to play (and probably get beat).

I get not carrying around cash, as I usually do debit card as well. But no one should be complaining about a $1 tourney. It costs more than $1 for a play on SF4 arcade.

Just point me to a decent display (preferably something good for gaming, of course) and I will get it. I’m really looking for something about 32" since I would like to mount it in my kitchen and most monitors I find top out at 24". My current monitor doesn’t have speakers on it or I would use that
I’m not against foney matches either. It is not something you make someone do. Two guys go in willing to bet a buck or two and like anything else becomes more interesting and tense as now the people have a stake in the outcome. Why else would people watch poker? Take away the money and it’s just a bunch of hicks playing go fish. Give Magic: The Gathering poker size prize pots and we’d see some awesome television.
I brought this one down to C Bus Bar Battle. They played 2v2 finals on it so I guess it’s good enough for them =P Not quite the 32" you’re looking for, but it’s still a decent sized monitor, pretty slim, and has screw holes for a mounting bracket.

I see. The one I was looking at was an LG display I found at BestBuy. It’s selling for about 400 and only does up to 720p. I don’t really have anything that uses 1080p (even most games today don’t even bother) and anything LG I’ve used has worked well. At least when calibrating rhythm games and gradius on them. Never did actually play a fightman game on one.

Found a 2nd impact kick at a pretty nice price. I wonder if I can rook anyone into playing it. Not sure it’s a good purchase though even if I could get a 3s on top of this – CPS3 suicide batteries are no joke
