Kinda random, but I kinda want your guys’ inputs. Some shit that’s been on my brain… more so aimed at the younger players than the OGs.

Why the fuck US players in general got such a fucking complex when it comes to the Japanese? It’s not just Dustloop or BB/GG (surprisingly), but I see it a lot in 3S or SF4. I mean we had our chance to shine with the console characters, right? And now we can still get to a higher level with SSF4 before the arcade version comes out then OMG JAPANESE PROS all over. Why does it feel like nobody’s trying to push it? People act like the Japanese are just soooo much better than us at everything. Even at the games they don’t play like TvC, they’re **just **learning that Zero ain’t all he’s made out to be. Mostly because they’re steady waiting on the Japanese to pick up the game out of nowhere and start playing it. Why? Why can’t we make TvC our game? Can’t be the lack of competition overseas, because we allow the Japanese to walk all over us in other games…

Locally, from what I’ve seen… pretty much we got the same kind of deal going on when it comes to Michigan or whatever the fuck. Nobody except Andre tries to push themselves and get better than the MI players. Personally, I could give a shit less about any competition or rivalries, I just wanna beat somebody’s ass, but at least he’s trying to get better at his respective game (even if it is overrated trash). Most of us it looks like, we barely stay at the same level and never try to push things and learn. It kinda makes us look bad. Nobody experiments. There’s a lot of potential that’s not being touched.

I’m kinda bringing this up because I really really don’t like the fact that I just straight up dominate every game I play for the most part. I hate 3S with every fiber of my being except 1 that has a soft spot for Yun/Chun Li in that game, yet I’ve only really lost to two people here in that game. That’s something. Then Andre I basically know the reason you want me to get back into SSF4 so badly when Yun/Yang come out is because you know I’ll just straight up beat almost everyone if I put time into it. I’m not saying I’m the best player here, of course not, I’m saying that I strive to get better and I want others around here to do that too. I WANT TO LOSE.

but seriously, cleveland is ass in super (and everything else for that matter). you cannot expect to build a strong scene when you don’t have a strong player to gather around and play. and no one travels out of state to tournaments or for casuals against much better players. if there’s not a single drop of dedication to getting good in the cleveland super scene, who are you really calling out?

I guess you could call me OG, im not done with these japs yet:) I play ssf4 seriously, i just havent hit the scene yet. I am the UNKNOWN KNOWN as samuel jackson might say. Like i said before to make a scene truly great you need one great player. Great players make poeple push themselfs to get better. Anyways dont give up on ohio, as far as im concerned we just started.

I dont fear japanese samsho players, they fear me cause i am the unknown unknown. They thought cause there was no huge scene that usa players suck at samsho. They dont think that anymore. :slight_smile: peaches

Thats what it is IMO. I think the real reason that the midwest is at a stand still compared to other parts of the country is that nobody’s making the effort travel-wise to learn new things. Now I don’t think EVERYONE the midwest is absolute garbage at EVERYTHING, but as a whole the midwest is pretty much looked down upon. and when the only people you play locals with are getting their money taken by the coasts right along with you you’re not getting “better” at the game, you’re just learning matchups. Just like playing basketball in the park won’t prepare you for the NBA, playing with people who aren’t winning big tournaments isn’t going to prepare you to win big tournaments.

But thats just what I think.

I know what games to play if I wanna lose (Guilty, Marvel), lol. I agree, we don’t have a lot of strong players. Decent sure, but there’s a lot of room for improvement. I’m constantly trying to improve in whatever games I play. I know I’m not that good at BlazBlue/KOF, but I always try to get better. We should try to build strong players, get better amongst ourselves. But nobody’s doing that then we wonder why we lose.

I should stop writing such big rants because nobody reads half that shit anyway… since apparently I think I’m better than everybody else when I said “I’m not saying I’m the best player here, of course not, I’m saying that I strive to get better and I want others around here to do that too” but whatever. I should get the fuck out of Cleveland if I wanna get better I guess… shits sad.
