For some reason, I talked to someone about Petey and Jago playing at CEO yesterday and I was all “oh damn I should probably upload that.”
Phil you are done with MvC3? What do you mean? What are you going to play, I thought that was your game…
GG’s today guys, glad to now have two people who can win like ten matches in a row against me now instead of just one! Also Hamilton your Viper will be pretty scary once you get the rhythm for her down; your fundamentals seemed really good but you messed up timings a little too often which you can’t really afford to do with Viper. I’d stick with her cause it seems like you’ll play her well.
No i meant like usually after competing in a tourney i just get overloaded from playing the game too much and having all my salt levels rise that i feel like i should take a break from it for abit like no online play and such.
And yeah after having so much fun playing blazblue I feel like i should start playing it alittle more seriously. I just don’t want to put in time in the lab -_-
Hamilton plays Viper? Get the fuck out of here stealing my MvC team. I had her first.
lol don’t worry Patrick, it’s for AE. Where was your scrub ass anyways?
GGs and thanks for coming guys, next time I’ll have this a little better planned out (still kinda new to this hosting thing). I think the main games will probably stay in the living room and the cliche/poverty ones in my room.
JC, I still need to play against you, especially since I heard you main Ken (but you could prob whoop me with 10+ chars easily).
Colin, sorry I didn’t get any Tekken in, I actually wanted some tips on what I do wrong since I haven’t played with anybody that actually knows how to play yet.
I need to relearn the BBCS2 bnbs, but at least I get how to oki pressure better in that game. Maybe by next time I’ll have learned something with Akane too other than ABC ABC super.
Thanks Mike, not only does my execution need work but I still have to learn some actual setups instead of relying on gut feeling when I want to go for safer 50/50 mixups (compared to what I do right now).
And also. Ammy Air Throw Reset, 'nuff said.
EDIT: Rob, since you’re now in charge of the FG section of GG (or at least that’s what I heard), wouldn’t it be a good idea to basically do what the UFSC2 club is doing? They sent an email mentioning MLG qual tourneys, GSL viewing parties and even guest appearances. Sounds like things (their FG equivalents I mean) we already do except there’s no GG involvement.
Yeah except for the following:
- We already have stream viewing parties.
- Threre’s no such thing as qualifying events for us (unless we want try to have a tournament where winner gets expenses paid for CEO or something. We’re nowhere near that right now though since we can’t even come through on a $25 prize.)
- Guest appearances? I’d consider it fucking awesome if we could get a tally x gainesville event going, nevermind get a pro to come here.
My priorities right now are to get a regular thing going right now at UF. I’m getting a little frustrated that its taking so long just to get a goddamn room ready but when there’s an announcement you guys will be the first to know.
- I thought they meant going to MLG tourney as a group event, except members can participate too if they want. So what I meant is, maybe we should go to CEO Rooster’s or something as a field trip or something.
- I don’t mean anyone known outside the community like JWong or Daigo, more along the lines of CJ or Jebailey who are known in the community and live kinda nearby (though Flash M or Ryan Hunter would be awesome too)
I WANT COUGH 13…NAO.
Ok guys, short notice but still you guys should know. I already told Rob about it. This Saturday is the biggest tournament in St. Petersburg for the entire year. Sure we have monthlys like Cafe Alma but that’ll only bring up maybe 16-17 people for AE. This one looks huge. You guys should really come out and show the rest of Florida what the Gainesville/Ocala scene can do. Here’s the link http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=224755990868985 Now unless you’re planning on competing in teams, you only would have to go on Saturday and you all could carpool or something easy like that. $15 Door & $10 per game. They’ll also have CVS2, 3S:OE & the greatest game of all time Breakers Revenge. I hope some of you guys can come down
Welcome to the club.
Family issues… besides I think CEO Goes to Rooster’s will be bigger (and you guys get to play in MY hometurf)
Can’t make it Pat, sorry.
I vote Petey, Phil and Ken go and continue to rep gainesville, or else I will punch all of you.
Pretty close to settling on fight nights at UF. I’m contributing 2 setups (1 xbox and 1 ps3) and I got commits from adam and pat to use their 360 setups and a commit from matt (forget what he said exactly). I think it might be best to alternate weeks between SF and Marvel. Thoughts?
Is it that hard to do both? Especially since there’s a lot more people playing AE compared to Marvel (sorry Phil), but what do I know about people outside this scene.
Consider this: it took hours to get the marvel tournament done since I only had 3 disks. I’ll probably have around 4 setups now that I think of it since I’ll probably keep it on 360. People want to play a lot and if I have 2 AE setups and 2 marvel setups, that means there’ll be a lot of standing around.
If I further divide it to include 3S and some random poverty game, then I run the risk of Petey/Phil dominating their machine, meaning even less people get to play.
Keep in mind that I’m basing this all on resources that I know I can count on. I don’t think there’s a lot more people playing AE than marvel in Gainesville. It just seemed that way on August 27th since people got tired and went home instead of waiting a few extra hours to play marvel, but the number of registrants indicate equal interest.
I like the biweekly setup. It’s a lot of gas money to go every week, so every 2 weeks can work for me. Also, 4 setups of one game beats 2 of 2 if everyone wants to play. A lot more input goes out for the game as well.
I said I could bring a 360, PS3 and my monitor. Also, I asked my old roommate who was at the tournament if we would be willing and bring his setups and he said yes. So now it’s up to like 5 setups? If we can get up to like 8 or so I don’t see why we wouldn’t be able to have both AE and MVC3 going.
I can bring my PS3 and Petey’s ASUS that I’m borrowing. Considering how many people brought their stuff to casuals this past weekend, I don’t see how it can’t be done. shrug
EDIT: no need to bring poverty games into night fights, I wanna take care of that whenever I end up hosting.
@Kevin - If I’m available, I’d be willing to carpool with you to cut the cost.
I’m going back to Jax this this week so I won’t have time to go to St. Pete.
I’ve got Marvel for my setup with the DLC, don’t forget that one. On the subject of Fight Nights, I won’t be in town the next 3 wednesdays :/. I’ve got Howl O Scream stuff on Wednesday for the next 3 weeks. After that though, I’ll be in town every Wednesday.
Also, I believe I forgot to mention it. If anyone is judging the size of the St. Pete Tourney or you’re going to miss it for other reasons, it will be streamed on IPW.
