I was surfing around Youtube after watching some of the new upped FR14 top 16 videos, and rediscovered what Gammon and Dru put up from GA players from last years Final Round. It’s pretty apparent that our level of play has improved… lol. Some of it is pretty terrible.

We tried to get him to casual Nato in the room, but he was pretty disrespectful about the whole situation and bowed out. When we got down to the floor, they almost immediately called this match. Needless to say we got hype that our concept match was actually about to take place.

In other news… My interview in California has officially ended. I’m flying to Chicago in the morning for my second, second round interview during spring break. This stuff is pretty major for me and this first ‘second round interview’ has been a pretty interesting one. The company paid for everything, including a ‘post interview dinner and bar tab’. At this point it feels like it’s a big sales pitch. Some current employees with the company came out and joined us and I honestly think they steered me away from taking an offer that I might receive.
Anyhow… schlumberger down and mitsubishi is up next. I’ll talk to everyone when I get back next week to let them know how it has ended up.

I had a friend who went on an interview. They paid for his flight, room at the marriot, his taxi, and his lunch and dinner. Just for them to say they weren’t interested in him and they were persuing other candidates. Free vacation if anything.
Employers seems to do really silly stuff as you’ll soon learn if you stay in the marketplace long enough. You could just luck up, find one company, and stay there for a long time. However in case you aren’t that fortunate, you’ll have to deal with a lot of nuances and unwritten rules when dealing with employers in the marketplace. Not everything is done professionally. And a lot of times they seem to waste your time. For example I went to DS Waters HQ for an interview 5 years ago. The interview was 4-5 hours long. I talked to the Director AND the VP in the interview. And then they told me a week later they weren’t interested. I felt they could have figured that within 30 minutes instead of 5 hours.
Yeah well Solid flaked on be basically for Marvel so it didn’t go down anyway. Another night wasted & more vengeance stored up in my Rage Meter, the real one.
