Ga Thread (Home of Final Round)

I am in Gwinnett. Find Waba Game, and then go there a lot.

roflcopter.

Georgia has the best Tekken players in the country.

Everyone ins GA has a grandmother who plays Tekken in Atlanta. Seriously, it’s the most popular game in GA. Well maybe it’s just Atlanta, but I know Augusta plays Tekken pretty heavily. I’m sure someone at East Point more than likely play Tekken. Clint, Joe, and Mike are all really good Tekken players. The Underground arcade just closed, but it lhad plenty of Tekken players down there

i’m also a tekken player this is the home of the best tekken players in the world. but we live here in Atlanta so there’s a lot of comp

Someone teach me tekken. I’ve been just using Feng’s shoulder and doing well. Haha.

So I’m assuming that there’s zero UMK3 players in Georgia, huh? Anyone?

I’m willing to be one, I guess.

WOO HOOO for the +1 :wgrin:

It’s not the best game in the world, but man high level UMK3 is fun!

Hell im not that big of a Tekken fan, but everytime i go to a gathering people are always playing it and you have to join in.

Got a question for all you guys. I need some local opinions. I’m modding my Hrap 3. The only thing im stumped on is the buttons. Which ones do you guys prefer Sanwa or Seimitsu? I need something thats gonna last.

You can’t go wrong with either of them because they’re both really good. Sanwa and Seimitsu are both very responsive, but the sanwa buttons are slightly more sensitive. Also sanwa buttons have more curve to them compared to the flat feeling seimistu buttons. I personally like seimitsu myself because sanwa feels loose and overly sensitive to me.

I play UMK3. If you have it for XBLA, we can try some online matches sometime.

I play Tekken, and apparently Min does as well. Tekken is a hard game to learn. I’m not that good at Tekekn, but I’ve been playing the game since it came out. A common misconception is that Tekken is about juggles, but that’s only apart of it. Spacing and good defense is pretty critical. Also the oki game in Tekken is pretty important, probably moreso in any other game.

I could never get into Tekken. I have mad respect for the game and its players, so it’s just a personal thing. I dunno, I just couldn’t really grasp the concept of the game.

I can understand where you are coming from. I have been contemplating the same thing lately with the recent turn of events that’s been going on with me. I’m going to see how I feel after IC4.

get sanwa. seimitsu is good but sanwa is better to me anyways. yes, samwa is more sensitive and youll appreciate it it the long run, i did. i tried seimitsu out first and they were nice but in the end i stuck with sanwa. its like coke and pepsi, both taste good but one has dat little edge on the other.

I want a honda FR avatar. who do i gotta go to???

RE: Sanwa vs Seimitsu

Many people look for the aesthetic value of Seimitsu buttons, but don’t want to sacrifice the performance that they find in Sanwas. To achieve both, you can buy Semitisu buttons and Sanwa RG microswitches and swap the switches out for some models. Per did a post about this in the akihabrashop thread, he said it felt amazing. This is an expensive mod, as you’re probably going to pay $3-4 per button and then like $4 per microswitch, but the RGs are supposed to last a really long time.

I have some of the skeleton screw-in Seimitsu, I loved them at first. After a few months though, I didn’t think they felt that great. I’ve swapped them out for Sanwas for now, I plan on buying some RG microswitches in the future though. Even after an almost-equal amount of playtime, I think my Sanwas still feel better than the Seimitsu did.

For now, its function over fashion I guess.

yup, i got the blue skeletons first myself. same thing happened to me, i liked the skeletons at first but then i didnt. got sanwas and they stuck.

okie!

Lol, same color and everything…

Dude, did yours squeak? After a while, two of my buttons started to make a tiny squeak noise if I went manic with presses. Annoyed the crap out of me…

Thanks for the help Ace, Maxx & MPR. Yeah im looking more for function than fasion. It seems the Sanwa’s are the way to go for that. Those Seimitsu’s do look good though, but Im going to be looking at the screen while im playing not the stick XD

Thanks again guys
