How much does it cost to enter the 1v1 in smash?
Quick question about the Chou Dragon Ball Z tournament.
Are you guys really using the jap version or the american version? Sounds like your using the Jap version to me (could be wrong).
If so, why not just use the American version instead?
Well actually we had the tourney a day early and when we only had 5 ppl. everyone else went to work. So aug 17th is best. nd yeah I was gonna use jap version because its closer to arcade. And the 1v1’s was free.
How so?
I’ve played the arcade one, and aside from a few console features (such as faster leveling, no 8 slots outside of Cell even tho it was tourny banned, and other minor stuff) and random slow downs, I don’t recall anything dramatically different from the American version to the Arcade version.
So what are the major gameplay differences from the Jap version to the American version?

Once I get a reply, I’ll actually try to plan on hitting up this tournament.
However, I’m going to need some sort of proof of how dramatic the gameplay changes are (if any) so as I can convert early into the Jap version from the American version of super dbz.
Actually your right its not even that drastic. but besides the stuf u said.
Goku’s Tornado Kick cant be combo’d from on the ntsc version.
Piccolo’s jumping strong doesn’t give you juggles in ntsc version.
A lot of combos and among other things were toned down from the japanese version. If you play the american version, and then watch videos of the japanese version playing you’ll notice a huge difference.
Erm… those two things you just listed are actually rather big.
Damn, I don’t use Piccolo and Goku much at all, but I don’t really watch many jap vids (not exactly a copy paste kind of guy).

It kind of sucks that your location is in Galveston vs someone who just recently moved to Austin (me of course).
There are random times I hit by Houston, but ever since I got a job I haven’t had much time to hit by. Hopefully this weekend I’ll hit by Houston. With that said, we might have a session going on with Super DBZ invovled. I know someone else who randomly hits Houston (but lives in SA) that loves Super DBZ and takes it seriously. However, we are now both in need of a the jap version now ;p
