record the dummy doing a full FA. do lp.RCF, first start by doing cr.mp xx EX FBA, then move to FADC Lv.2. Its an easy link, both ways, well it was easy since I used to nail that link (cr.mp) with about 80% rate online, but maybe not any more. Perhaps the full 6 hits of the rolling part screw up your timing, so try this instead.

Is it me, or does this game seem really easy on the paper/theory level, and apply it? The only exception for me is Yun, but hey, I don’t put the same effort into this game as I used to.

no, Vega would be to buff for the mechanics of this damn game. What this game needs is for everybody to be on Yun’s level. In reality he is a really shitty character compared to Vanilla Sagat. But Vanilla Sagat didn’t break other characters, except for Vega perhaps because of st.lk xx lk.TK. Yun breaks more characters, so Yun is automatically more fucking stupid than Vanilla Sagat could ever hope to be.

BTW its linking, and you** link 2** not 3. If you do 3 you lose damage, if you link 2 into 1 cr.mp you get max damage. yes I went there

Give him new combos, I hate almost all of vega’s close normals with a passion. As far as I am concerned, he only has one viable close normal, close heavy punch.

Put him back to super and make st.HP recover faster.
Give him his vanilla version (minus wall glitch) of U1 back.

Maybe if we’re pushing it allow EX.ST to be FADC-able.

Vega Changes:
Gets a +8 dive kick from a wall dive
Super is like ST super, where it only activates and burns your meter when you hit them, you never see it coming.
make him be able to kara grab from his CH
Give him +5 on his overhead
make his cr.lp like balrogs jab
make his cr.lk 3 frames start up
make his u1 unblockable
make his u2 qcf motions
make the hit box of the normals with the claw extend past the pixels of the claw
make all of his normals have frame advantage
make his ST hit in a full 360 around his hitbox.
give him a ground command grab
you can combo u1 or u2 after an ST
You can also ex fba after an st
hell, even air grab
make his sweep +7 on block

Yeah all those sound great! Lol, seriously though, the 2nd ‘picky’ list was not a serious one, just all the things I would give him. Would that make him Shin-Vega? Eehhh, we could go on about that. But the first list, the ‘reasonable’ one ( i can hear the OMG’s and snickering already) i stick behind. With the exception of ex roll into U2(in retrospect that is a bit much)that first list of updates would be a godsend, and nothing on that list would overpower him. I repeat, the 2nd list was not a realistic one, not meant to be taken as if i really wanted or felt justified to ask for these buffs. But the first one…yeah, I feel like i’d to see them implemented. Tbh, if capcom gave Vega invul.frames on ex-st and nothing else, I would be content.

Edit: Recovery bare minimum on both flips.

the fact it’d still be just as useless. The only way that flips would be useful is to have zero startup and recovery… which makes it broken because they’ll just be spammed. Vega doesnt need a lot, but i think he needs some serious buffs. i frames on ST is a given unless he has a reliable AA normal move that has an insane stupid large hitbox. His range needs to be increased with the claw on. Either his damage, or his health and stun need to be increased. His speed (mostly startups) need to be increased. He needs at least 1 close fast startup move to have +4-5 frame advantage. They neeed to ditch the recovery all together on his wall dives. he’s the only one that has recovery on a whiffed aerial special move

Better recovery on flips would still make the flips a better move. As it stands today, I have to be half a screen’s distance away from the opponent if I wanna ppp flip to create space. In this sense it is useful, because even with the horrible recovery at the end you are still safe because because you were already far from the opponent to begin with. PPP flip is terrible as an escape move, but at creating distance between yourself and the opponent it can be handy. Some characters, like Akuma or Dudley, you can’t PPP flip at all, but a lot of the cast has no way to punish if you PPP flip when there is already space between you two. The slow start-up, for me, is not the problem, but if it had less recovery at the end it would be a great space-creating move.
Yeah, whiffed FBA’s should have no recovery, I’ve been saying this since Vanilla, and even blocked ones should have a tad better recovery than they do. There’s no need for the bunny hop Vega does at the end to be that long.

Remove the cost of EX to throw mask

If you intentionally throw the mask, it should be impossible to pick it back up that round

The second hit on U1 missing getting fixed would be great too, and a soft KD on SHC would make it not completely useless

I don’t mind Vega the way he is now to tell you the truth. Just fix a few minor annoyances like that could be changed.

On a serious note, here’s what I think Vega needs to be a viable contender without being broken:
