deadmau5 are closer to trance than house/ certainly not funky house but i do enjoy their music
Funky House Music thread
I was under the impression the thread was open to all house discussion, despite the title and the aformentioned existance of another, similar thread, which I’ve yet to check out.
That said, I’m not familiar with his music. Wiki said he’s a progressive/ electro house artist. It’s worth noting that wikipedia isn’t the end-all, be-all source of information when it comes to all things everything.
No worries Vynce, i have no issue with you mentioning deadmau5 like i said earlier I do enjoy listening to his music.

Word. Any tracks you’d reccomend by him? Just really getting into the genre lately. I always liked “certain techno songs.” As it turns out, almost all of it is house.
I have this album. Shoutout to Koname for putting me onto this dude!

First time I saw Deamau5 live was in Coachella 08.
I really wanted to see him live again when he did that whole full awesome LED light show extravaganza!
Deadmau5 (One person pronounced ‘Dead Mouse’) is legendary. His style has been seen all over the place. He varies from trance, to progressive but he mostly sticks to progressive.
Some of his best tracks:
Strobe:
Sometimes Things Get Whatever:
Jaded:
Faxing Berlin:
You & I:
Clockwork:
Soma:
Plus you need to see him live. I saw him at Coachella this year. I was fucked up so when I saw this I nearly fell down.

I don’t know how many of you are fans of deep house, but Kerri Chandler is God to me. Not only is he the best deep house DJ, but he is arguably the best house DJ ever. You truly feel his music. Hits you right in the gut. You just have to listen to know what I’m talking about. If you don’t feel ANY of these tracks then something is wrong.

You people need to watch this. It’s the history of house starting from Chicago and New York and how it blew up in the UK. Even talks about the birth of techno in Detroit.

lulz I wrote a 12 page paper in college about the history of house… if I can find it, I can upload it for anyone interested. Researching the paper was pretty interesting… learned all about the “Death to Disco” movement and the clubs of Chicago and New York (Warehouse and Paradise Garage specifically), all that good stuff.
I figure it’s always fun and interesting to learn/know the roots of something you love, yknow?
Then watch that documentary. You might discover something new. It’s like 15 parts or something so I figured that I would just post one then you guys can go on from there.
I was a Millia player. Haven’t played GG in ages. I miss my bitch:sad:
