I’ts not really an oxymoron, seeing as how friends might have certain qualities or habits that might annoy us. But they still remain our friends because the positives outweigh the negatives.
^Maybe I should clarify, when I think of people acting better than someone else, I mean people who look down on you like trash, always have to shove their successes in your face, etc, not someone who thinks high of themself or something like that, the former is not someone I’d personally consider a friend.

Why do you guys let these “friends” or “people” get on your nerves? Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love. Just do your thing and pay no mind to people like this, they will come in many variable forms throughout your life.
Honestly I just go by a simple rule, if i beat them in Street Fighter I am better than them, the person at the bottom of our ladder has to make us coffee, drop out of school if he is in it, and walk around on all fours cleaning up after us

I got a friend who’s a little cocky. Cool guy to hang out with but he tends to have this attitude about him from time to time where he feels he’s above someone because of there situation.
He claims he isn’t cocky but self-assured but i’m like, “Its the same fuckin thing”.
but they might not have been that way from the beginning.
One of my former friends was a good guy through most of his life. Ironically it wasn’t until he was laid off and got a potiental GF that he started acting like that. Bringing up shit just to play the rest of us down, but act like he’s perfect.
Its too bad since he “was” a good friend in the past, but I don’t want that shit in my life and cut him loose.

lol I only have one friend like this in particular, but I think deep down inside he’s really a good guy.

But yeah, I hate people like this. There’s a fine line between trying to help you, and just being an all-around asshole. I know a guy like this. Constantly crashes get-togethers and shit, and acts like he’s the shit 24/7. It’s like, “GTFO, we don’t even want you here.” My friends and I don’t hide our distaste for him either, but he never gets the goddamn message.
I tend to criticize some of my friends, but I pick good reasons to do so. Like “Maybe you shouldn’t go totally mental because I keep beating you in [insert fighting game here]”. Or “Maybe you should go to class so you don’t fail all of them again instead of sit in your bed making custom maps in Halo all day [not exaggerating]”.
I don’t really have any friends, so I’m good here.
