I actually really really like this idea.

Anyway, lemme scumbag school for this week and I can show up as early as Thursday.

(school is winding down, especially now that it has been confirmed that I’m leading the grading curve in my one class in terms of discussion >_>)

But yes, if we move fast enough, this thing can be done in like 2-3 months.

(though I have no idea what the climax should be at this point… we kinda fucked up by not getting any wedding footage >_>)

EDIT:

No wait, it’s already thursday lol

Man, I really like this hentai foundry guideline:

• Colored people anywhere in an image does not warrant the Racism tag.

Fifty hyperbole and a half to make a statement obviously, don’t get your panties in a bunch over this.

The fact that you don’t like what someone has to say is no reason that they shouldn’t be able to say it. None of us need to look at the comments, when you go to youtube to any video you specifically need to scroll down and leave the area of the video to look at the comments. You specifically need to invest energy to get to the space where you can see people’s comments, it doesn’t interface with you at all if you don’t want it to. I likely won’t view the comments because I agree that in a lot of situations youtube comments aren’t worth paying attention to. However something not being worth paying attention to is not justification for it to not exist.

I deeply prefer that censorship not happen, as an entity that later desires memetic basis for deep levels of interaction anything that limits the greater network of consciousness’ ability to communicate clearly is something I’m against.

Protection of freedom of communication is something I value conceptually at the level of human life since we’re adjusting the neural network of greater reality by limiting its options. The point of freedom of communication is to protect the people you don’t want to hear, because you’re already going to be fine with those you do. The desire to not read comments is perfectly understandable, you need to invest extra work to read them anyways. However I’m very much against people being prevented from commenting even if it’s their random dumb political fights, that can break out on any video or whatever.

The only thing I don’t mind censoring is redundant information such as spam where the message is replicated without new information being added aside from occurring at a different time, and only if it’s interfering with our ability to understand information we view as valuable.

I very much request you enable comments.

The only value I see in SPAM is that emergent properties of repetitive systems are bloody insane, like if you put fish together they can avoid predators more readily, or that ants can build bridges, or Justin Wong can go low with Storm with these same sorts of repetitive systems.

One who despises the toxic grasp of censorship on the greater whole of memetic reality with an intense passion,

You tell DKL to not get his panties in a bunch…and you post an essay?

I agree that YouTube comments should be on, because it could be benifical. But I don’t mind that in the beginning it could be disabled. Until its really popular, comments can be disabled.

I’m honestly not seeing how disabling youtube comments on an indie project as small as mine is suppressing free speech: I enable video embedding, which means you can take that shit and theoretically talk about it anywhere, where its discussion is actually more likely to be seen.

I could also link to the FDM thread in the video description section, which I feel is a better idea since, if people feel strongly enough to say something, they’ll go through the process of registering on SRK and saying whatever.

People can also retweet the video and then talk about it and do whatever. Depending on the context, this may or may not be easier to do depending on where the person is logged in at the time.

There are many avenues in which discussion (and subsequent information expansion/pollution/whatever) regarding the video can take place… the actual location just isn’t one of them, but it’s not substantially harder to bring the product somewhere else in order to do what you want with it.

Quite honestly, this entire line of discussion seems kinda absurd and I’m not being productive by waving back and forth between whether or not we should turn this motherfucker on.

Sure, you can increase cumulative information or whatever by discussing this or enabling youtube comments, but I have a finite life and school work that needs to be done.

You probably won’t agree, but there really is a point at which too much information becomes useless or even cumbersome. This is why I have to even edit the videos I shoot: there’s too much shit there and, other people with their finite lives will probably appreciate the more focused experience.

That said, I can’t even post the full videos anyway since there was this feeling of apprehension about the content, which ironically probably does fall somewhere in this discussion since I’m witholding the dissemination of information that I possess as a video to a certain degree.

EDIT:

It’s been 30 minutes and nothing has gotten done. This is just perfect.

Any time someone with the authority to do so makes it more difficult to communicate toward or about any specific thing it is suppression of free speech.

I have no opposition to a link in the description to our thread on SRK. I see potential negative outcomes, but it will likely be fine.

People being able to talk about things elsewhere is always a capability on anything Aside from when legal action or lack of resources prevents them from doing so

I advocate that it be made available for discussion, but that’s my opinion and you get to make your own choices, though I would like to have a discussion on censorship this weekend, understanding your perspective may lead me to greater wisdom.

At the time the line of discussion of giving women the right to vote was also considered absurd by those who had control over voting. You get to make your own decisions, if you don’t want the comments on, keep them off, just let it be known I’m stating my opinion against that since to me it’s an issue of morality.

Is enabling comments really that hard? I’ve never had a difficult time with it on Youtube, maybe they’ve adjusted since I last posted a video ~o,.,.o~. The cumulative information is not just for you, the cumulative information is for sentience as a greater whole, life is finite, but reality appears to be an ever increasing infinite.

I told you that I do agree, that point is when information that is previously available is repeated with enough consistency that getting access to other information is more difficult, in which case it can be consolidated for efficiency. I would rather have a note saying 5,000 people who watched this video think the earth is flat and that president Reagan was a Martian, than have a blank, censored comments section. You edit videos because you’re the one investing energy into recording content to go out, people can edit their comments before posting them too. I often edit what I write multiple times both before and after posting things here on SRK as hard as this may be to believe with all the errors that remain.

I don’t see how enabling comments by default is taking anything from your ability to live your finite life in a state of happiness, learning, and achieving greater enlightenment as stated when you go to youtube you can’t even see the comments unless you scroll down.

Censorship is not the refusal to volunteer every piece of information about your life. You recorded and invested the energy into putting this information into this format so you could share a specific piece of it. It would only be censorship if it was someone else’s video that they wanted to put out and you edited it in order to change what they were outputting.

You’re an awesome person DKL and there’s no need to sweat it, I just very much advocate making the spread of information easier because I feel useful information will eventually be integrated by more people because it’s useful. While useless information will become more and more apparent that it’s useless.

Much love, sorry for stirring the hornets nest but censorship is one of the issues that really matters a great deal to me.

@"Worf Jostar"‌ I over react about everything, hyperbole girl in action!

Edit, woo, not required for Jury Duty! Happy dance.

Shit is taking away from ability to live my finite life in a state of happiness because I’m in here contemplating this as opposed to doing something that’s actually productive.

With comments being enabled at the start, I spend maybe 10 or 20 minutes or an hour thinking about my horrible experiences with reading youtube comments and how I don’t want to experience that first-hand. You can spin this into some kind of positive experience, but my information intake is different from other people.

This is literally wasting too much time. I have not gotten anything productive done since the inception of this discussion.

Censorship is an issue, but you also have to match the fucking costs with the revenues: the costs of discussing all this have far outweighed any possible benefits (which is suffering from some serious diminishing returns at this point) I (and likely other people) can derive out of it.

In my view, fucking materiality needs to be considered in all this: I’m not gonna go back in and correct the financial statements for a missing $30 (which involves looking for (or counting) the damn money) if I’m getting paid like fucking $75 to go back in and correct it.

The item in question in this case is a video nobody is fucking watching and then you have me on the other side stressing about whether or not the damn comments are on. What the hell did all of this accomplish other than ruining my day?

This isn’t something I’m gonna go back to and turn into something positive when I’m out there in the field doing something that benefits me or other people.

This is me wasting 1-2 hours out of my day in a probably very forgetful experience that’s currently very annoying to experience now.

The problem with this is the idea of “eventually”… this could be anywhere between the next 5 minutes and the next 5 years. The problem with “eventually” is that it’s possibly getting in the way of useful things that I can be doing NOW that will have larger benefits in the next 5 years.

This entire discussion has almost no long term benefit for me. This is just me reliving long-winded discussions I had in other forums where I probably wasn’t being productive then either.

There is a reason why I have scaled back my online discussion activity: there was a point at which it stopped becoming useful.

As much as I hate on my school discussion shit, it’s feeling infinitely more productive than this right now since the topics are of substance.

(I’m not saying that censorship is not substantial, but the materiality of what we’re discussing is coming into question)

I’m all for Freedom of Speech but when you can currtail shit that’s only going to be dumb adn have no real impact on Freedom of SPeech go for it.

So in even shorter, fuck youtube comments.

-A Nigga

I won’t waste any more of your potentially productive time right now, let’s discuss on Saturday.

To be completely honest, this is probably going to be the next video when we discuss it this weekend, but this feels more like me trying to salvage a car wreck than anything.

I actually would have preferred that it not even go here given that the fruit from this will not be worth the stress that was put into it.

Maybe it’ll be amusing in 5 years, but the present value/discount rate of this shit is fucking terrible.

How bout not

If anyone interested in cool Injustice stuff check this out

With Southtown being closed I’ve been itchin’ to play live with some Bay Area folks, this seems relevant to my interests.
