Any time someone with the authority to do so makes it more difficult to communicate toward or about any specific thing it is suppression of free speech.
I have no opposition to a link in the description to our thread on SRK. I see potential negative outcomes, but it will likely be fine.
People being able to talk about things elsewhere is always a capability on anything Aside from when legal action or lack of resources prevents them from doing so
I advocate that it be made available for discussion, but that’s my opinion and you get to make your own choices, though I would like to have a discussion on censorship this weekend, understanding your perspective may lead me to greater wisdom.
At the time the line of discussion of giving women the right to vote was also considered absurd by those who had control over voting. You get to make your own decisions, if you don’t want the comments on, keep them off, just let it be known I’m stating my opinion against that since to me it’s an issue of morality.
Is enabling comments really that hard? I’ve never had a difficult time with it on Youtube, maybe they’ve adjusted since I last posted a video ~o,.,.o~. The cumulative information is not just for you, the cumulative information is for sentience as a greater whole, life is finite, but reality appears to be an ever increasing infinite.
I told you that I do agree, that point is when information that is previously available is repeated with enough consistency that getting access to other information is more difficult, in which case it can be consolidated for efficiency. I would rather have a note saying 5,000 people who watched this video think the earth is flat and that president Reagan was a Martian, than have a blank, censored comments section. You edit videos because you’re the one investing energy into recording content to go out, people can edit their comments before posting them too. I often edit what I write multiple times both before and after posting things here on SRK as hard as this may be to believe with all the errors that remain.
I don’t see how enabling comments by default is taking anything from your ability to live your finite life in a state of happiness, learning, and achieving greater enlightenment as stated when you go to youtube you can’t even see the comments unless you scroll down.
Censorship is not the refusal to volunteer every piece of information about your life. You recorded and invested the energy into putting this information into this format so you could share a specific piece of it. It would only be censorship if it was someone else’s video that they wanted to put out and you edited it in order to change what they were outputting.
You’re an awesome person DKL and there’s no need to sweat it, I just very much advocate making the spread of information easier because I feel useful information will eventually be integrated by more people because it’s useful. While useless information will become more and more apparent that it’s useless.
Much love, sorry for stirring the hornets nest but censorship is one of the issues that really matters a great deal to me.
@"Worf Jostar" I over react about everything, hyperbole girl in action!
Edit, woo, not required for Jury Duty! Happy dance.
