I KNOW RIGHT???
That said, I started Devil May Cry 3 last night and I like that the level design so far (currently stuck on mission 4 due to difficulty) is linear as fuck and hasn’t given me much of an opportunity to get lost; I like that.
With regards to gameplay, it’s pretty much Dante from DMC4, but there’s a few things right now that I’m a little iffy on:
-They don’t differentiate between the orbs you use for upgrading Dante and the orbs you use for purchasing items, so this is problematic given that the level of difficulty forces me to buy items in order to deal with the game… in particular, I’m playing “YELLOW”, which means that I have to use yellow orbs in order to restart from a checkpoint.
I suspect that I may have to noob it out in “GOLD” mode, but let’s see how far I can get without rage-quitting.
As is, I’m actually having to GRIND for orbs in levels I’ve already played just to get new abilities and be able to afford items; this isn’t my ideal scenario for difficulty (why can’t people do it like Godhand or Resident Evil 4?).
-I would’ve preferred being able to change styles on the fly like in DMC4 (I can only change them here at the beginning of the missions?); you could come up with awesome combos doing that shit… the only thing the d-pad is used for in this game is fondling around in order to find the correct menu
-With regards to graphics, I’m not totally into the art design: it’s just an abandoned city and Vergil’s tower thingy pops out of nowhere and the entire place feels empty… hopefully, there will be more variety in locations like in DMC4, but without the parts where I get lost and punch a hole in the wall
Things I like:
-I actually have to use my guns as an effective damage tool: you pretty much didn’t need them shits in DMC4 outside of the suitcase weapon given that you could mash sword until it works…
-Cutscenes, like DMC4’s, are flashy; even with the age of the graphics, the staging of the scenes is really good and can carry the game’s visuals just fine
-Trickster is actually a useful style now… but now I suspect that I’ll be stuck using it given that the normal dodge commands aren’t the most reliable and I kinda need to not take damage now

That said, watching dat E3 conference: Tomb Raider reboot looks cool, but likely because it looks like a complete Uncharted ripoff (which, honestly, was probably the only way to salvage that series, which was pretty ass to begin with if I’m remembering things correctly).
Mass Effect 3 voice commands look dumb; that’s all I need while playing a game.
EDIT:
Yeah…
Microsoft conference was ass.
