OK. If no one opens AIP here’s what we’ll do I guess:
If SF4 players are all gone by now (heading to VA) people who are playing anything else (BB, Tekken) say something. I may be able to convince my ex to sign people in so I can get 16 in my building and if there’s nothing retarded on TV like True Blood or Jersey Shore or Glee or a Pens game or any of that bullshit I think we can use the downstairs room and my TV for 2 setups and still run BB ranking battles and Tekken ranking battles.
SF4 ranking battles, you can all go gather somewhere and throw money around blah blah blah whatever. I’d accept placings as “Adam is still great. Jake still and always will suck. Mark only wins money matches, especially against Jake. Giuseppe is still a beast but Adam gives him bad advice to make him lose. Aaron and TJ rape all of us hard.”
Either way I’m down to host something. I can only have 8 people at a time though unless Aleigh decides to be nice.
Just remember, my 360 doesn’t work.

I don’t know where you guys would want to gather since AIP isn’t open and we don’t have Duq anymore so I figure hey, we’ll probably end up split anyways so theres no way to do brackets all at once unless you want to IM or call in or whatever.

Here: You play BB for like 10 minutes and I’m sure it’s only to piss Bobby off because you can beat him with shit that shouldn’t work anymore and he’s pissed about it and not only that, he’s pissed that he’s not the best and he’s losing to, of all people, you. But seriously, why should I expect Adam, Aaron, you, TJ, RJ, or anyone that’s pretty focused and adamant about SF4 to show up for BlazBlue? Especially when you’ve found a much better way to do it because there aren’t multiple set ups here (in my apartment) and I don’t even have a way to have 1 set up if someone doesn’t bring a console for sticks due to the lack of PS3 sticks and lack of me having a working 360. However, you have found better alternatives for you to play such as at Adam’s or RJ’s or Nam’s or Nates where you can have maybe 2-4 set ups because they have multiple TV’s and I have 1 HDTV and (sometimes) access to one other TV.
Dice can bring his PS3 stick, but why would he bring it to play SF4 when he doesn’t play SF4 and wants to play BB? Why would Bobby bring his stuff for SF4 when we are low on setups and he doesn’t play it either? You know if he brings his TV he’s gonna play Melty Blood. Nate has my PS3 stick, so I don’t have an extra. Odell pretty much refuses to go anywhere but AIP, my place, and his place, and lately he’s even refusing to leave his place. There goes the working 360 we had for anything. I’d let you guys use my sticks too and not say a thing about it and you know it, especially since I can’t use them for anything but emulators and the only time I ever play those is when other people are here. That’s being real dick-like or whining right? So is setting up the hotel room, trying to organize rides to SBR despite us all knowing who probably has a ride and who doesn’t. Acknowledging that you guys have a ride is whining? I’m just saying who needs one and who can drive. But I mean, if that’s how you see it, just put me on ignore, don’t talk to me, don’t ask me to borrow sticks or help with anything since all I do is whine and I’m such a dick and a bitch and blah blah blah. Everyone else knows how to find me.

Regarding SSF4 and Ohio. I can only assume you are excluding the approx. 100 people who showed up for CBBB3 including our good friends from Cleveland, Canton, Indiana, and Detroit and without a doubt the numbers at SBR for SSf4 are gonna tower the other games. So I have no idea where this “most” of Ohio is coming from playing games that don’t matter, If there is a scene that I don’t know about then they obviously don’t care if they don’t show up for their own tournaments or just have really shitty numbers.

No doubt the number for SF4 is gonna dominate the attendance numbers but last I checked Detroit wasn’t a part of Ohio and SB is and will draw people from all over the country and now the world but if you ask the TO’s and people that were around before SF4 in Ohio on their opinion of the game, I’m willing to bet you’ll get something not too great on what it is to them. What other place takes a deck of cards and says “Hey if you’re playing SF4 you have to follow these special rules” and draw a card like you can’t use special moves/certain normals/etc or (used to at least, I don’t follow anymore) stream everything but SF4?
It does bring in the numbers though so why not run it? If it brings good business connections and makes money, why not do it?
I think you can sympathize with how I feel Adam. Jake can too. Melee to Brawl? Guilty Gear to BlazBlue? MvC to TvC? I don’t think we have any shooter players, but the closest example would be Halo 2 to Halo 3. Everyone jumped on Halo 3 and wanted to be competitive in it and all that shit, but Halo 2 players had a lot of opinions on it but still played it because that’s where the competition was, with tons of “new blood” and some just quit or picked up a new game.
I was referring the people who showed up at the tourney were from there not so much an exclusion to ohio players only, I realize my punctuation and sentence structure was off.
as for the organizers ,yeah those are a few tight nit group not the majority of the state let alone the surrounding ones.
Brawl is an exception they took an accidental competitive game and made it even less competitive on “purpose” as if it was a mistake and everything we worked for was too a mistake. The developers didn’t want us. thus turnouts for both tournies are usually about the same. I only played either of these games cause they were what were popular in my area growing up. This is not the case for ssf4

When did I say anything about hating it? You all know that and I stopped saying shit awhile ago. My point is and was this from the start: even if I still played it. even if I liked it, why would you come down to play it here when theres better places for you to play? Also, since we have no place to gather, if you want to hold the ranbat still, throw in money, whatever, thats entirely up to you guys right now. That was the point of my post. I say BB can happen here because we’ve been playing it here, as well as 3s and Reload. CvS2 was brought up because guess what? People that come over want to play CvS2!
